An enjoyable picturebook with an important message about the value of lifelong learning,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All of Life Is a School (Hardcover)
Created and written by aviation enthusiast Kermit Weeks, who has won medals at World Championships and twice been a US National Aerobatic Champion, All of Life is a School with Gee Bee Zee - the Little Racer is a children's picturebook about an anthropomorphic airplane and its friends in a faraway place of neverending summer dubbed "Fantasy of Flight". On the first day of racing school, a young yellow monoplane named Zee is excited at the prospect of learning from famous racing planes - so excited that he forgets to use a checklist to ensure everything is in proper order before he begins flying! "'Why do we have to use a checklist when we already know how to fly?' Exasperated, Roscoe responds, 'It's a great habit to get into and at this time in your life, it's a great time to learn great habits!'" Zee eventually discovers that all of life is a school - one can learn valuable lessons anywhere, anytime, from everything one does. Bright, cartoon-like illustrations bring to life this enjoyable picturebook with an important message about the value of lifelong learning, especially sure to appeal to any child who loves airplanes.

Excellent children's book,

Excellent book with an excellent set of general, important, healthy messages for young people. Seems like a great book for the 5-6 year old crowd in particular.
