"This book touches on every emotion.  I felt as if I were living it."
"You don't simply read a book by Ann Swann, you experience it."

From the Author

One reader wrote me a personal note saying this book should have a warning label that the reader should have a box of Kleenex and a Bloody Mary while reading.
I agree!

5.0 out of 5 stars Impossible to put down September 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I started and finished this book in less than a day. It was impossible to put down. This book isn't a fairytale romance, with a prince or even a necessarily "happily-ever-after"(although, the ending was great); this book is about real-life romance, one in which people get hurt, deeply hurt, and need to decide whether that person is still the one for them.

Swann had a way of pulling me from the start. I was curious why a woman would stay with a husband she suspected of cheating on her. What kind of person does this? I wanted to know this woman's story.

The entire book is told through the point of view of Liz, the main character, and let me assure you the narrative never gets boring. Liz takes many trips down memory lane, but it never comes across as layered or boring back story--far from it actually. Swann tempts you with a recollection sometimes, and then leaves you hanging there to return to the present. You can't wait to get back and finish off Liz's memory. Also, as a note here, I was never once lost or confused by a transition in timeline. Swann did an excellent job of that.

ALL FOR LOVE is a story that deals with grief, the living with it, and the moving beyond it. As is the saying goes, "It's at the end of one's life" that one looks inward to reflect on their life course to up until that point. In this case, it's the end of a loved one's life that has Liz thinking back over her life with a man who stole her heart and broke it many times.

At points in her life, Liz realizes she needs to learn how to "just BE", but this mindset (as in real life) is quickly lost amongst changing times and circumstance. There are morals in the story that could apply to any of us, which is probably another reason I enjoyed it so much.

At first glance, this book is a romance. And a romance it is ... a romance of the most true-to-life kind. Instead of getting Prince Charming who can do no wrong, in ALL FOR LOVE, you have Quinn, the flawed, loveable hero who -- through being himself -- not only steals Liz's heart, but changes her life ... setting her on a collision course of heartache, chaos, and ultimately hope. The characters are well developed and stick with you long after you read the last page. Ann Swann, the talented author of THE PHANTOM series, pulls you into not only each scene, but into the very heart of the characters. I loved this book because I could relate to the characters, and their flaws. Not predictable in any way, ALL FOR LOVE captivated my heart and soul from the get-go. I can't wait to read more from this talented author!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ann Swann has done it again! I found myself on the edge of my seat hurrying along to see what was going to happen next once again. Ann has such a wonderful writing style that make me feel I am right there alongside Liz in that little West Texas town. Anxiously awaiting more works from Ann!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique - Intriguing - Captivating! September 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When the local plastics plant where Liz's husband Quinn works explodes, Liz's life begins to collapse around her. She looks back on her life and her tumultuous relationship with her husband and tries to come to terms with her past and present.

ALL FOR LOVE by Ann Swann is not your average romance novel - it is a realistic journey through one woman's relationship with the man of her dreams that isn't always perfect. Through past and present scenes, we see how Liz's and Quinn's story unfolds, their triumphs and their failures, and the secrets that can tear a family apart. Personally, I wouldn't categorize this novel as simply a romance - I would call it Literary Fiction and Family Drama at its best.

Ann Swann is an extremely talented writer who grabs you from the first sentence and doesn't let you go until the end. ALL FOR LOVE draws you in immediately and you certainly do not want to put it down. Her writing style is smooth and flawless and her characters are realistic and captivating. You don't just read a novel by Ann Swann - you literally experience it. I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys a story with depth and heart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read October 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Liz Rose seems to have it all: a handsome husband, a happily married daughter, a career as a well-respected teacher and lifelong friends. But that's because Liz has a mantra that will keep her smiling through everything: `keep faking it'. When her husband is involved in a horrific explosion at work, the carefully plastered-over cracks in Liz's life start to show and faking happiness is suddenly a whole lot harder as she is forced to face up to past mistakes, of both her own making and her husband's. As Liz desperately tries to keep up appearances by bottling her problems up, she finds her situation more and more hopeless and eventually, something has to give.

In Liz, Ann Swann has created a flawed heroine that you cannot help but sympathize with, but who will also frustrate you with her stubbornness. She asks her readers to contemplate many moral questions, such as the timely subject of abortion, through the choices her characters make throughout the book. Race and abortion are difficult issues to tackle, and this novel brings across a point of view that is sure to split readers' opinions. The novel is fluently written by an assured hand, making it easy to read, though the fractured chronology of the narrative is at times difficult to follow. The characters surrounding Liz are well drawn and the problems they all have to face seem real and will most likely strike a chord, or perhaps a nerve, with every reader.
