This was an extraordinary documentary of an African American midwife's journey providing both prenatal and delivery of 2 real life women. Despite several challeges Ms. Coley, strives in helping these women have a safe pregnancy during segregation and poverty in rural areas in Georgia. The film takes viewers into the lives of Ms. Coley's commitment in being available to women in any given moment of the birthing process. You are shown in detail how Ms. Coley goes into the women's home and sets up the neccessary things for labor, delivery, and post labor. Things such as sterilization, and ensuring items will be available for baby upon arrival. WARNING: actual labor and delivery footage are shown. Therefore you will be viewing women giving natural birth whom were not actors. I was deeply inspired. Great story

Interesting film that documents the importance of midwives during this time period. It was very interesting to a nurse who works with pregnant patients and post delivered patients. It is interesting to see how some things are similar and how they were on the edge of understanding important concepts. I don't think the film is of great acting. I still enjoyed it.
