What a great idea to teach little kids about spiders. I'm really afraid from spiders, so I was a bit skeptic at first, but when I saw the lovely cover, I became curious. Then, I started to read it for myself and somehow I wasn't afraid anymore, the author gives names and attaches a story for each spider, which makes those hairy little creatures to something cute. I read it to my 7 years old nephew and she loved it.

After reading this book, I am confident that kids will be much closer to being more comfortable around spiders and would think twice before reflexively stepping on them at first sight. This is because the author of this book did a great job presenting these creatures as very pleasant and useful parts of nature who can co-exist with people and that people should not fear them and kill them.

This is a cute yet informative book about spiders. There are amazing photos of the spiders in this book. If your children are the type that love to see them up close, they will certainly get it in this book! In addition, the content is fun yet very educational, giving kids a great opportunity to learn while engaging all of their senses.

I have to admit that I didn't read this book.....Spiders freak me out but my boys LOVED IT!!! They couldn't get enough of it. Of course they chased me around the house with it teasing me. They said it should get a ten star rating lol...so I am taking that to mean they would definitely recommend it.

My son really enjoyed this book! He was fascinated with the pictures of the various types of spiders. His favorite spider was Jack, who's a wolf spider. The story is cute and entertaining. It also helps kids and adults appreciate how beneficial spiders are for humans. Well done!

I like Alice Cussler books because she writes educational and informative books for children. The author made spiders look cute to us through this book. And also it's an easy read for children who aren't native English speakers, just like my niece and nephews. My favorite part is the description of each spider.

Another great book by Alice Cussler. I wouldn't normally read a book about spiders but the cute cover caught my eye. I am very glad I did. Children and adults alike will be mesmerized by the amazing close up pictures of 6 different types of spiders. It is told in a story like fashion but is very educational as well. I now know much more about spiders. I recommend this book.

Wish I had this book when my children were younger. One of my children was really afraid of spiders. The author's approach is to create sweet characters to narrate the story of different types of spiders as they play and learn with each other. I discovered a few types I did not know existed like Wolf Spiders and Crab Spiders. Cussler explains how each group of spiders look, move, and interact with their environment. She points out that they destroy insects and pests harmful to humans. Strange that humans are so afraid of these tiny creatures.

The illustrations complement the text and clarify the text. Perfect for children in the primary grades, for those who love insects and those who need an eye-opener to alleviate their fears. Look forward to exploring other books in this series.
