The Belle of the last two decades....,
By
This review is from: All By Myself (Audio CD)
The best indicator of the quality of an album is how well it ages. Well, I have had this album for ten years , and it still does not seem stale.Regina Belle has a voice that should have made her the superstar that Janet Jackson is.She also has the power and control that makes you think back to Chaka Khan and Aretha. The sincerity is there as well. I have over 400 CDs in my collection. And 40 or more of them are R & B albums. This is one of the albums I come back to over and over again.Especially when I have been subjected to what is now trying to pass for R & B.

Perfect.,
By Jimmy Perfect (San Francisco , CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All By Myself (Audio CD)
Released in the spring of 1987, Belle's debut album, "All By Myself", revealed a woman whose vocal style and timbre were unquestionably all her own.
Belle and pop-R&B producer Nick Martinelli gave singles such as "Show Me the Way" and " So Many Tears" the kind of warm, subtle interpretation that has since become Belle's trademark. Another gem is the song " After The Love Has Lost Its Shine",which every time you'll play it,will give you very strong emotions and send shivers up to your spine. An essential purchase for all Soul/Jazz lovers!

She showed me the way....,
By Aaron William (Emerald City, CT) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All By Myself (Audio CD)
The video to "show me the way" in 1987 led me to buy this album before I ever knew what a success Regina would become. For years "after the love has lost it's shine" (the album's best) has moved in a way that I don't know whether to sing or cry when it's on. "Intimate Relations" is another song that radio should have picked up on. When I think of Regina Belle, this album is how I always want to remember her.

This is the one album that shows the true side to Regina Belle. This album embraces her talent and above that the songs that are on this recording have a message to all the women in the world. That message is request what you want and if your lover does not know how to deliever then you have the abilities to show them how to.

The beginning for one of soul's most sophisticated songstresses,

This album, which sounds as fresh now as it did in 1987, gave us our first taste of Regina Belle, who would go on over the years to become one of the classiest ladies of soul. The album rides highest on the strength of the hits "Show Me The Way" and "How Could You Do It To Me" but the whole album is a quality listen from beginning to end.

Pure Talent,

This album is one that never gets old. My favorite track is "After The Love Has Lost Its Shine". They don't write songs like that anymore, strong and on point. Regina is one in a million.

Smooth, sexy and seductive jazzy soul at its best.,

I bought this album shortly after it was released in 1987 and it remains among my favorite R&B albums ever. Although both "So Many Tears" and "Show Me The Way" were its hit singles, the songs that truly justify buying this CD are "Intimate Relations" and the mesmerizing "After The Love Has Lost Its Shine". If you buy just one Regina Belle CD, this should be the one.

Excellent Debut by Regina Belle!,

I love this cd by Regina Belle. It includes my favorite Regina song of all time "After the love has lost its shine", Wow! When I heard this song back in 1988, It blew me away! What an incredible voice!
After that moment,I knew I was going to follow her music career and I did! This is a great debut by the inspiring voice of Regina Belle. I gave it 4 stars, because my favorite albums by her are: Stay with me and Baby come to me: The best of RB.
