This is a good introduction to taking care of your pet for little kids who are just beginning to understand that the pets in your home are real animals and not just toys! It shows enough "tasks" of pet care for a young child to compare taking care of a pet to how mom & dad take care of them. Buddy the Ladybug keeps the whole approach fun by showing quite a bit of pet playtime along with the "work" side of having pets, so short attention spans stay glued.

The video doesn't go into a lot of detail on any particular animal and really is more of an overview of pet care, but it makes a good starting point for illustrating responsibility with your pets.

We are thinking about adding a pet to our family, so when I read about your video in Parenting Magazine, I was really excited to get one! It was so enjoyable for everyone in our family. It was informative and entertaining--especially the chameleon during feeding time! My son screams with laughter everytime the Chameleons tongue grabs its food. My daughter loved the dogs in the pool catching the balls and the kitten segments. I thought having the vet talk to the children was a fantastic idea. Well done.
