This book was a gift from my Mom and I've read it over and over throughout the years when I need to remind myself not to take life too seriously (Why should I? My cat doesn't!). I'm going to order one for a very dear friend of mine who is also a cat "freak".

This book speaks volumes on how easy life can be if we just take time to "eat the flowers" and relax. Life holds many great and small mysteries that we all need to explore instead of rushing through trying get to what we think is most important (and it usually isn't!).

I highly recommend this book to cat lovers and "others" alike!

Speaking as a writer of humor/satire/parody (most recently, Scratching the'Net: Web Sites for Cats - a book answering the question, "What would the internet look like if it were run by cats?"), as well as a cat lover, I can say that Ms. Becker definitely knows cats and portrays them hilariously in this very enjoyable volume. It's true that you can learn all you need to know from your cat because, after all, if your cat doesn't know it, it probably isn't worth knowing.

"All I Need to Know I Learned From My Cat" is mostly a collection of one-liners about life's little lessons, as learned from a cat, with color pictures on every page. Some of these "teachings" are as follows: "Sleeping is very underrated" (my favorite), "Stare unabashedly" (my cats have this one down to an art; it's almost eerie), "Flaunt your hair loss", "Make the world your playground", and "Recognize the toy in everything" (and they do). This is a fun, casual read with mild humor that mostly cat lovers will appreciate. Ideal for such readers.

I discovered this book in a little boutique on Cape Cod. As I flipped through, it didn't take long before I was giggling to myself. The book consists of cartoons that remind me of the Boyton characters you sometimes see on coffee mugs. I could see my cat in almost every drawing & caption. The drawings are very cute and accurate in portraying how cats act and the things they do. I was able to identify well with this book because it seems that the character depicted as the owner of this cat is a single adult female, like myself, living with her zany feline. It was the last copy they had, so I bought it to show to my family and friends who also share their lives with a cat.

A sweet and sharp little book to have if you own cats and you are observant of their personalities. I'm happy I bought it

This book made me laugh EVEY time I read it, it never got old! And is STILL not old. It is very funny because the information given is truly good information, but not the way te cat sees it! Example: It said "share your victories", which is generally good to do, but they way the cat is doing it is showing his owner a dead mouse that he cought!
So this book is a very nice, happy book. Plus the illustrations were wonderful!

This book was excellently written, the timely way in which it expressed accurrately our family cat, the way he punishes us when we leave him alone to long by pushing the rugs all array, or runs up the stairs with the greatest speed. I just loved this book, my daughter and I laughed and laughed. Thank you, Robin.

All I Need to Know I Learned from My Cat is a little illustrated book by Suzy Becker. Each page has some piece of wisdom like "Be curious" and "Don't always come when you're called," and a corresponding illustration involving a fat white cat.

The whole thing is very cutesy, and if you aren't a cat lover, this isn't for you. But if you are a cat lover/owner, you can relate to a lot of what's in here, and you'll get some enjoyment out of the book.

Ultimately, All I Need to Know I Learned from My Cat, while containing nothing particularly hilarious or classic, is what it sets out to be: cute.

My family has a cat (Sassy) that is approximately one year old. She is currently in the transition stage from being an energetic kitten interested in everything to a tamer version that is more content. When reading this book I recognized Sassy on every page. Each page contains an illustration with caption that also relates to our human traits of trying to get through the trials of life. My favorite was the page that showed a human bathroom with things strewn everywhere with the caption, "Get someone else to clean your bathroom." Funny and entertaining, this book will strike the truth bone of every person who owns or has owned a cat.

There have been no end of parodies and weak imitations due to the popularity of this book, and that popularity is well founded. Suzy Becker nails it! This is all about the true essence of cats and the feline qualities of their humans. If you don't recognize yourself and/or your cat in these cartoons, you are simply not human.
