Intriguing & Fascinating From Beginning to End!,

This review is from: All You Need Is Love (Paperback)
Wow!!! I just finished reading "All You Need is Love", and I am still completely blown away by both the premise, and the amazing amount of proof the author uncovered!
I must confess that, although I truly believe in past lives, and I consider myself to be pretty open minded, I still approached this particular book with a certain level of skepticism. It's funny how, as soon as someone mentions a connection to someone famous, many of us are quick to decide that it must be fantasy - but when we read the same type of info about a connection to a regular "old joe", it's much easier to believe. However, I now realize that because of this skepticism, it was probably even harder for the author to come forward with her story - who would take her seriously? Who would believe her? Yet, after reading this book cover to cover, I think it's more relevant to ask who couldn't believe her? With the amount of evidence she's uncovered, you'd have to be pretty closed minded to chalk it all up to coincidence! This is actually several stories wrapped up into one. The main premise is about a young mother who, after the shooting death of John Lennon, is overcome with a grief that she can't understand. In trying to understand this intense emotion - for someone she never knew, and wasn't a major fan of - she uncovers evidence of having lived a tomultuous past live with Lennon - then John Baron. However, even she is quite skeptical, and is unable to believe that this is really true. This story is about her journey... a very spiritual journey. A journey which leads to her realization that she keeps living the same type of life over & over again - and will continue to do so until she heals herself. So, a part of this book is also about her current life, and by the end, one can easily see the parallels between the two. This is also a story about synchronicities - those amazing "coincidences" that tend to occur so many times that it's hard to just dismiss. "All You Need is Love" is filled with so many of these amazing occurances that it becomes impossible to dismiss them with the wave of a hand. Ultimately, this is a beautiful love story that offers the reader a chance to live vicariously through the "characters". It also offers the reader a chance to learn about the topic of past lives, in an easy & riveting manner. This is definitely a page turner! I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic of past lives - it's really a great read!!!

Proof of love beyond the grave,
By Beatlefan (Seattle, WA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All You Need Is Love -- Second Edition (Paperback)
Jewelle's first book "Just Imagine: A Past Life With John Lennon" was published in 1995, followed by All You Need is Love in 2003. This 2009 edition includes new material, with the Epilogue at the end. There are new revelations and amazingly coincidental events that are stranger than fiction, making this version a must-have for the past life enthusiast or prior readers who want an answer to the question, "then what happened?"
The cover art of this edition is beautiful and inspires the emotions that are described within the story. The foreword is written by Bill Harry, old time friend of John Lennon from Liverpool, (author of Merseybeat and the John Lennon Encyclopedia). To have impressed him is a plus, since his chapter on John's afterlife in his book exudes some skepticism about other channeling books. My only disappointment in this edition is the removal of the interesting photos that were included in the last one. The overall premise of this story is how Jewelle, a normal Canadian housewife who was not even a Beatles fan in the slightest, completely falls to pieces when learning of John's murder. To quote from the book, "An ache penetrated my being so deeply, I thought I would die. Tears slid down my cheeks. My mind went numb." After three years of unexplainable grief that eventually ended her marriage and affected her family life, she finally sought some answers from her psychic mother and sister, who both separately indicated there was a romantic lifetime with John in medieval England. They gave her names and dates and places. Rather than leave it at that, Jewelle set out to prove it, taking the reader through her arduous journey, which is its most fascinating element as she stumbles upon documents that rock her to the core. A tough skeptic herself, she actually went to England several times to the small village in question, seeking answers. When she actually finds evidence amongst yellowing and brittle old parish records that the couple actually existed, the goose bumps begin standing up on your arms. From there, she even finds the old gravestones, and by now, even the biggest naysayer could be hooked. In fact, those who say "prove it" when questioning the idea of reincarnation will find themselves searching for a rebuttal after reading this book. Jewelle's discoveries are stunning evidence that not just this past life, but reincarnation in general, must be true. Going a step further, there is a strong sense that love continues beyond the grave, and the ability to heal old karmic wounds from centuries back, that continue to affect our present lives. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in John Lennon's afterlife, or those simply curious about reincarnation, and the healing issues involved with the soul on a karmic level. This is a riveting account of a woman on a soul-healing journey, and will be inspiring to others on the same path.

Is Search of a past life of John Lennon,
By
This review is from: All You Need Is Love (Paperback)
Is there really life after death? Is there such a thing as Reincarnation? These are some of the fascinating topics Stuart Sutcliffe and I used to discuss. Following John Lennon's death, numerous spiritualists throughout the world claimed to have contacted him and I received numerous tapes from séances and also accounts of John's life in the spirit world.
As a child I was always encouraged to maintain the sense of wonder children have in their discoveries of life and I was always interested in books such as `The Search For Bridey Murphey' and the series of `Far Memory' books by Joan Grant. Let's all keep an open mind. After all, most religions believe in life after death and the majority of people in the world do believe in reincarnation. Which brings me to Jewelle St. James' book `All You Need Is Love', which is an adventurous search for her past life with John Lennon. Don't dismiss such books readily, it's a voyage into the unknown, surely, but also one in which we should keep an open mind. Jewelle is a Canadian housewife and mother who had no real interest in John Lennon. However, following his death she became almost obsessed with intense feelings that she knew him in another life. Contact with people who were able to confirm and channel her beliefs led her on to a journey to England tracking down the clues and eventually discovering the details of their past life together. Even if you are a sceptic you can't fail to be fascinated by what is a truly intriguing love story.

Intriguing and Convincing - I Was Skeptical At First,
This review is from: All You Need Is Love (Paperback)
"So you think you've lived a past life with John Lennon?", my husband, Bob, would ask. Sensible, level-headed Bob. I would answer his questions with my usual question, "Well, can you explain any of this?" I always hoped he could explain because I certainly couldn't. I hoped someone, anyone, could explain. But a past life with John Lennon? I'll let you be the judge. It all started December 9, 1980, the day after John Lennon was shot... --From the book All You Need Is Love, the incredible true story of one woman's search, discovering her past life with John Lennon.
I admit to being suspicious when I first picked up All You Need Is Love. I mean, anyone can claim to be the lover of a former Beatle in a past life, right? Interestingly, four years after she began inexplicably grieving at the death of John Lennon, author Jewelle St. James felt the same way: she was ready to hear answers about a past life with John Lennon if she could prove it. Jewelle is from a small, mountainous Canadian town called Revelstoke, which is in British Columbia. Far from the busy world New York City where John Lennon was fatally shot, she nevertheless felt a penetrating ache of loss and even desperation when she heard the news of his death. Perhaps such feelings could be chalked up to the grief of a fan but, interestingly, Jewelle had no interest in the Beatles at the time. The following day, her local paper featured an article by a traveling evangelist with the headline John Lennon: Was He Really So Great? The minister went on to say that John would spend eternity in hell, and that his upcoming sermon would be about the dangers of rock and roll. Jewelle had a strong reaction to this article, and immediately fired off a letter to the editor-something very out of character for her. Over the next three years, Jewelle lived with her intense grief-confused and frustrated as to why she felt this strong connection to John Lennon. She bought a copy of the Imagine album, having never before heard it. When she listened to the song Jealous Guy, she experienced a vivid recollection of an ancient milestone nestled in rich green grass, the darkened granite reading "...miles to London". Jewelle finally decided to confide in her Mom, who was spiritually minded...even psychic. Her sister Konni, also clairvoyant, helped clarify the details that their Mom had imparted. All You Need Is Love follows Jewelle as she deals with confusion, frustration, hope, and determination-all while she attempts to track down the validity of the names, dates, and places she received from her Mom, her clairvoyant sister, psychics, a past life regression and her own channeled writing history. The story of Catherine James and John Baron is compelling-part mystery, and part romance. But underscoring this amazing tale is the experience of past lives: how their patterns often repeat throughout many lifetimes, how unfinished past-life business creeps into the present, and how one can actually heal emotional wounds and unconscious patterns by discovering elements of past lives. The reader is taken along a fascinating journey with Jewelle as she researches genealogy and Sussex history, visiting England several times and having information confirmed. Weaved throughout her search is the tale of Catherine, son of a merchant, and her lover John Baron-a kindly young man of ill-health. We dance along with Catherine and John in the Great Hall, and trudge along in the thick mud with Catherine as she walks to the hospital to tend to the sick. We grieve with Catherine as she loses her beloved, and must then endure her cruel Aunt Agatha, who ends up drugging her with laudanum as a "cure" for her grief. Jewelle's story is one of healing and hope-reconciling unfinished business of the past and moving on with a sense of purpose. And, as John would say, with a sense of love-for all you truly need is love. After reading this book, I'm interested in finding out about my own past lives-something I've not even begun to look into. I highly recommend this engrossing and well-documented story of one woman's search for answers--and what that journey has brought to her present life thus far.

An amazing journey that makes you believe in reincarnation..,
By
This review is from: All You Need Is Love (Paperback)
Of all the books I have read about reincarnation, All You Need Is Love By Jewelle St. James gave me the proof I needed that, in fact, past lives are posible. This is a story of an ordinary woman who experienced unexplained grief after the passing of John Lennon. After three years of constantly thinking of him and buying anything and everything having to do with John and the Beatles, she decided she would try to explore these urges. Her mother and sister, who posessed psychic abilities, along with other psychics and mediums, began to help her piece together a story of love that ended tragicly and quickly. She was given two names, Katherine James and John Baron, along with several dates and different locations is England. Without telling the psychics who she was searching for, almost all of them told her that John Baron and John Lennon were the same soul! But Jewelle wanted more...she wanted proof. She spend many hours in libraries and on the phone, comparing facts with her given messages. She was able to find a Katherine James and a John Baron...in one of the years and towns she was given! After years of searching for proof and having regressions, she finally went to England to only discover a beautiful love story that has spanned the centuries. Not only is this a beautiful and well written book, you can literally feel yourself with Jewelle as she shares this amazing story. Even if her past love was not John Lennon, this would still make make you think twice about reincarnation. This book would be an excellent guidline on how to discover your own past life. I only ask you to read this with an open mind and heart and you will be plesantly surprised.

I enjoyed this book so much that as soon as I read it, I read it again. I was always interested in exploring a past life, but after reading this I know that all of us have lived before, many times and our current lives are clues to who we were in past lives. In this story you will feel Jewelle's pain as she questions her own sanity and discovers that she lived a past life with Beatle John Lennon. In this humorous, superbly written book, Jewelle makes it easy to imagine how she must have felt when she found herself obsessing over someone she never met, only to discover through confering with several psychics that Lennon had been her teenage fiance in the 1680's. You will be very sceptical of this until you read these pages. It is important to note that she didn't say anything to these psychics about Lennon before consulting with them, yet every one of them not only saw the same past life but accurately gave names and dates as well. And every one of them told her that her past life lover was the same soul as the 20th century rock musician, John Lennon. And Jewelle still wasn't convinced. By the time you finish you will believe. Convinced that she had gone completely "round the bend" as John would say, she told herself that she was just a bored housewife who had become obsessed with a glamorous rock star. Why was she reacting to his death as if she knew him? As if he was a close family member? As I mentioned above, she gets her answers and turns her entire life upside down in the process. But what she discovers about herself and her real purpous in this life is just as important as her discovering a soul link to John Lennon. Another nice thing for me, being a Beatle fan, is that John himself is in this book. He is seen by the psychic mediators, and he even starts to speak, when he realizes that Jewelle is no longer rejecting the message she's been given. If you are in this site, you probably already had an interest in this topic. Please read this book. For me it was a life changing book that has caused me to explore my own intuition and to realize that life isn't always logical. The universe has messages for us all the time. It is important that we listen.

A marvelous second edition,
By
This review is from: All You Need Is Love -- Second Edition (Paperback)
The second edition features a forward by Bill Harry, the founder and editor of Mersey Beat, which adds a wonderful flavor; and an epilog that extends even further the author's use of good old fashioned down-to-earth research to validate synchronicities and psychic phenomena--a extremely powerful combination. All I said about the first edition carries over into the second, specifically, "In 'All You Need is Love,' Jewelle St. James follows her heart, obtains psychic readings from a number of gifted people, and painstakingly seeks out evidence to test the accuracy of the information gathered, and the validity of her beliefs. A sincere and honest approach that totally satisfied my Doubting Thomas aspect! Along the way, Jewelle digs deep into her own intimate issues, the resolution of which provides a glimpse into the mystical workings of the Universe. A truly courageous and inspiring work. I loved it!" And with the addition of the forward and epilog in the second edition, there is even more to love.
