I got laid off from my job at the end of last year and decided I needed a change. My girlfriend and I moved out to a little cabin in Papaikou, Hawaii. It's a pretty remote place (i.e no plumbing/electricity/gas). We worked for meals during the day cultivating microorganisms and learning the basics of sustainable living. We drank, showered and cooked with rain water. We inspired each other a lot out there, and I think it shows on the album. The music comes from a place of love and ease. The music was sketched out loosely over the course of a few months. We just kind of melted into one person. I put together all the arrangements and field recordings, and that became All Night.

A few months ago I got my first taste of All Night with 'Soak It Up' and 'Endless Summer,'I knew right away that I wanted more tracks from Houses. All Night satisfied and surpassed my expectations. I thought that the tunes that were released before the album dropped were going to be by far the best of the ten tracks on the album. I was wrong-- tunes like 'Wash' and 'Sleeping' absolutely destroy me in the same glorious fashion. I highly recommend that you drop a few dolla bills on this one!

This album is truly great! The guy above didn't do his research I guess, as the band mastered the album to vinyl and then digitized it. The pops and cracks are supposed to be there, and in my opinion they sound good.

Sublime
Beautiful album. Super-chill, ambient and melodic. The overall sound and effects remind me a bit of "loveless" by MBV, though the music itself is much more mellow.

An absolutely beautiful work of art
Simply put, it's deep and beautiful and stays that way throughout the entire album. Put on some headphones or go on a long drive with this album and let it grow on you. Read more

Be aware!
I would give this 4 stars, the songs are great BUT the mp3 album I purchased sounds like a much played vinyl lp with scratches and pops, very annoying. Read more
