3.0 out of 5 stars Not exactly what I was expecting...
Though this album was not all I thought it would be it is original and has some great lyrics. More rap by the female vocalist than anything and yes, a harder edge to it overall!

Okay i first heard this band when they were know as Manhole, they open for Type O. It was a real hardcore show all the guys were ready to start moshing and busting heads Life of Agony was the only listed opening band so imagine their suprise when this woman takes the stage. Tarrie B. lead singer of Tura Santana let lose a powerful metal scream, and out came lyrics with meaning. The songs are about violence againts women, abortion and a million things that I'd never heard a women sing about. For once in my life there where more women in the pit then men and it was beautiful.
I bought this album the mintue the show was over and have fallowed Tarrie's career since and all I can say is buy this album buy any album connected with her. This girl knows how to rock and deseveres your support.

Also this is not a girl only type band, every guy I know who has heard them has ran out and bought this. Don't buy this cd just because it has a girl singer buy it because it's a metal experience you need to have!!!!!!!!

Before the emergence of My Ruin, Tairrie B. was a rebellious Los Angeles tomboy fronting Tura Satana, a hardcore rap-metal act that took the California underground by storm in the mid-90's. Amidst the other politically-charged bands emerging from that same period (System of a Down, Korn, Rage Against the Machine), Tura Satana's 1996 debut "All is Not Well" placed the one-of-a-kind Miss B. on the musical map; unlike other albums of that period, this CD features Tairrie rapping and decrying issues which were far too disturbing to be discussed: the lyrics furiously tackle the horrifying realities of rape (Victim), botched abortions (Put Your Head Out), child abuse (Break) and spousal battery (Cycle of Violence). With loud and hammering guitars accompanying her, Tairrie used this CD as her first attempt to purge the tortured memories of her own past; it's a long, personal battle that would continue for the next decade, all the way up to My Ruin's "Prayer Under Pressure" record. Although "All is Not Well" isn't the best album released during Tairrie's career, it certainly isn't the worst either, as it foreshadows what was to come in the near future. "All is Not Well" even includes a raging, punk-like duet between the lovely Miss B. and Snot's Lynn Strait (Down) who unexpectantly died shortly after.
