5.0 out of 5 stars Back Down Memory Lane
After listening to the New Edition compilation, it is amazing to realize just how many memorable songs came from this supergroup. The inclusion of early favorites like "Candy Girl", "Cool it Now", and Bobby's "Girlfriend" take you back to when the group was compared to the Jackson 5 and for good reason. The fact that they all had solo...

3.0 out of 5 stars Enough already!!
How many different 'Best Of', 'Greatest Hits', 'Solo Hits', 'Love Songs', etc. can MCA create for New Edition? This idea is tired, and it's time for New Edition to move past the boy band thing. What's next, a BOX SET containing rare unreleased remixes & B-sides ? You don't need this CD, and it's not because of the music. Save your money, and have someone create a...

The fact that they all had solo success is a no-brainer. This CD is a better overall showcase of their success as opposed to their greatest hits CD, and easily leaves the door open for another collection of their non-number one hits as well

Every song on this CD was a hit at one time or another, so if you like pop music, you'll love this CD. The only glaring omission is the song "Do Me" by Bell Biv Devoe. Given how famous (infamous?) this song was during the 90's, I'm amazed it was left off? Seems like a glaring oversight. I would have prefered hit song "Do Me" rather than the radio flop "Humpin' Around" but no big deal. The CD is still worth having for all 90's fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars From Orchard Park to the Top of the Charts, July 7, 2000

This review is from: All the Number Ones (Audio CD)
The group that revolutionized the music industry with their blend of rap, hip hop, and R&B. They don't get the credit, but they are truly responsible for the success of the boy/men groups of the 80's and 90's. Great music, great dancing, and even better live in concert. With all the success of untalented groups, you can bet that NE will be back....better and stronger than before. Since they first got together in 1978, they have survived almost 3 decades of music fads and one hit wonders. We should all be thankful that NE paved the way for such groups as Force MD's, The Boys, New Kids, Troop, Jodeci, Boys to Men, N Sync, 98 Degrees, and the Backstreet Boys just to name a few. They have continued to mature and improve their music with each album. This compilation is just a sample of their greatest hits. "NE's in the house...and the house is packed."

5.0 out of 5 stars New Edition shines again, May 18, 2000

With this album, people get a chance to see just how successful New Edition was. The tracks are great, but what makes it even better are that there are remixes of some of the songs. The best mix is the accoustic "quiet storm/under the lamppost" mix of "Can You Stand The Rain." Another great mix is "Sensitivity" (warm + sensitive mix) by Ralph Tresvant. With all this, the album should be a smash hit and is definitely a must-buy for any New Edition or R&B fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tha Bomb!, December 3, 2005

I ordered this album from Amazon.com based on the reviews and I must admit, that I was not disappointed. Matter of fact, I let my cousin and sister listen to it and they both felt the same as I do, this CD is the bomb! It is not a New Edition the group number one, but a compilation of all the number one album from the group and individual artists. Although, I must admit, I have never been a Ralph Tresvant fan, I still think that this is a wonderful CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Number one in my book, March 21, 2005

If their is any blueprint that any singing group should take, it's New Edition. The definition of typified talent, whether solo or forming Voltron, the star power of this group cannot be denied. All The Number Ones is clearly the best N.E. compilation that anyone can buy, featuring the 18 number #1's from their group and solo efforts. What's also great is that some of the versions featured are rare mixes not featured on the corresponding albums. Though I would have loved "Roni" and "I'm Still In Love With You" to be on the album, this is a must for any hardcore New Edition fan.

To anybody who ever doubted New Editions strength individually or as a group, I challenge them to listen to this cd. This cd shows that NE was always smooth, tight vocally, and on point from the beginning to the present. Ralph Tresvant's "Sensitivity (remix)", Bell Biv Devoe's "Poison (remix)", and New Edition's "Can You Stand The Rain (Quiet Storm Remix)" are must haves. And some of their best songs like: Boyz To Men, I'm Coming Home, I'm Still In Love With You, If It Isn't Love, Something In Your Eyes, Stone Cold Gentleman, and Fairweather Friend aren't even on here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool it Now, November 27, 2003

"Ronnie, Bobbie, Ricky and Mike-
if I like the girl, who cares who you like?"

Whenever I hear "Cool it Now" I'm reminded of my days on the professional break dancing circuit and my appearance (on the cutting room floor sadly) in the film "Breakin' 2: Electric Bugaloo". Sometimes it makes me cry.

3.0 out of 5 stars Another great compaltion from the Boston Boys, September 12, 2000
This review is from: All the Number Ones (Audio CD)
I love this CD. The remixes are off the hook. The only thing that makes me mad is that Booby Brown has the most songs. Come on it's a New Edition cd.
