These wide jaws are added to the Emerson line of clamping straight edges. They make the part that Emerson clamp clamps wider.

I bought these not sure if they were worth the money. I can now tell you, they are worth the money and I am going to buy another set. I use the straight edges with my circular saw, router and even jig saw on occasion. I have a biscuit jointer and when routing out the biscuit I use the Emerson clamp on the top of my work bench put the wood against the side of the straight edge. The allows me to push the biscuit jointer against the wood and rout out the biscuit slot. This clamps just hold more and allow me to securely put pressure against the side of the straight edge.

What do they do? They make a great product even better! They add more holding power and stability to the clamping portion. Can you do without them? Yes, they are not absolutely needed.

Now that I have them and use them I recommend them as they just add more stability and lesson the errors that I can make.

This product is a must if you are going to be using it for your router or circular saw. It provides the stability needed when pressure is applied to the fence when pushing or pulling on it.

I bought the clamp and the wide jaws at the same time. I was very dissapointed with the size of the "wide jaws". They measure 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches. I expected them to be much larger. You can add to them with wood using the screw holes provided. How ever if you get the clamp you will defenitly need the wide jaws to use it.

Works well, but the description needs to be changed as this does not include the rubber face to protect the wood, which was my main reason for buying this.

I had a cutting project that involved 1/4 inch plywood which had no margin for error. The Wide Jaws were excellent at giving me additional gripping surface that prevented any movement at all. All cuts were dead on!

Great at adding more clamping pressure for those applications that need it. You can also add some 1" stock to these clamps and use that, on both ends as you cut line. Makes it super easy and precise when lining them up. 5 Stars.

I don't know how long these clamps have been around, but I've been waiting to find something like this for years. I have never seen one used before but after using it
I don't see how I did without it. I've made and used some homemade straight edges but nothing ever worked so well and was so small and portable, I love it.

The XWJ Wide jaws make the All-in-one clamp more stable and with the addition of the story-stick, that alone saves a ton of set-up time. Well worth the price paid

I wouldn't bother with these. The "wide" clamps are only as wide as the track itself, about 4 inches.

If you really wanted a wide clamp, you could take a trip of plywood or hardwood, and screw it onto the guide bases instead of these clamps.

Also, when mounted they result in the built in ruler on the guide to be off by about 1/4 inch, which is inconvenient.

Finally, the original packaging was very poor. The plastic has become brittle and broken open, and one of the mounting screws had almost fallen out.

My wife purchased these all in one XWJ clamps clamps for me for x-mas I was very excited to try them as I like to use new and inovative tools. I found that the clamps do not hold, after multiple attempts and reading the instructions over and over I determined that these are a waste of time and money as the locking bar will not hold it just slides.

I am not sure how it was determined that these have any clamping power they just wont clamp no mater what I try.
