5.0 out of 5 stars This is not Black Metal!
I was reading some of the reviews below or above, and I gotta tell you....this ain't Black Metal. If you want to call it someting, call it Metalcore or Hardcore Metal, hell those are the same thing when you think about it. It doesn't really matter what you call it. The only thing that matters is if it sucks or not? To me this doesn't suck. "And that's all I have to say...

3.0 out of 5 stars Got Its Good Points
This is another CD I picked up at the Tower Records closing sale. The name implied death metal but as soon as the singer started, I realized, "oh crap, not hardcore again!" I just can't get into hardcore. We have a metal music station on TV and most of the time when I turn it on, I hear hardcore so I immediately turn it off. But, since I paid for the CD, I figured I'd...

This review is from: For All Our Sins (Audio CD)
so far all of the reviews that i have read of this band are that they are alright or that they down right suck! but in reality everyone should stop over analyzing bands like these and take them for what theyre worth granted ther are some down right sucky bands out there but these guys are not one of them, i say buy it its definitly worth having these guys are no nile, or origin, and are somewhat predictable but overall have a tight sound.

But, since I paid for the CD, I figured I'd give it a fair shot anyway.

Well well well... at times this reminds me of Suicidal Tendencies, and I can't exactly explain why. The music and musicianship is really quite good and I found this album full of little surprises. I am giving the three stars to the music alone. I was disappointed in the CD cover though. There is a foldout with nothing but a painting on it. It folds out into three sections but outside of some almost illegible writing on the back (of the foldout), buried in the painting, there are no lyrics, band info, or photos. The back inside cover shows images of the band members, first names only, and the credits are almost unreadable because of the color of the font.

So, my rating of three stars is for some excellent music and musicianship. However, I knocked off two stars for the hardcore vocals and crappy CD cover.

4.0 out of 5 stars Alive in the Underground, September 17, 2006

This review is from: For All Our Sins (Audio CD)
Early last year I was searching for heavy bands on myspace and what do you know I found Crematorium and I was not dissapointed. I chatted with them a bunch and found out that they were releasing a new album (The Process of Endtime), so I picked it up. I thought it was a good release, but it was very lacking in serveral ways (the drums for instance/repetitiveness), but with what The Process of Endtime lacked For all our Sins made up for. I can defintaley see how they got their label. This album is one of my favorite undergorund releases and (I'm not sure if they still have it on their site or not) they should have some live songs from this album on their site.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, December 15, 2011

This cd has plenty of aggression and attitude. I first saw crematorium back when they did a tour with Hoods and glass casket, i did some research on them before and went to that show solely because of my interest in crematorium.
Despite them calling themselves 'murder-core' this cd is really good. A slight blend of death metal with hardcore influences, this cd is great to listen to every now and then.

4.0 out of 5 stars music from the biggest voice in the underground, September 24, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: For All Our Sins (Audio CD)
Crematoriums latest release "for all our sins"
never promised to be an epic, this is an album that you can just kick back and party to.
how ever...
crematorium features frontman Dan Dismal who has made several contributions the south west metal underground as well as bands all over the world.
If you are familiar with the California metal underground chances are you have met or dealt with Dan before, he has been helping bands with promotion as well as booking and other buisness matters since the early to mid 90's
and has worked with many of the major underground metal labels.
I have this album just in admiration of the effort this band has put forth and look forward to buying the next release due out soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crematorium burns it up, July 21, 2003

ok. . . .Crematorium isn't the best known band in the world. and im not sure if i'd classify it as death metal, as the name would suggest. i actually listened to the entire album in a local record store, just standing there. and i ended up buying the lp because i couldn't put it down. this album is along the lines of...i'll say Meshuggah's musicianship and the lead singer sounds like a hybrid of Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Sepultura) and Jesse David Leach (Killswitch Engage). Although you can obviously expect rather predictable doom metal or black metal themes and styles, the constant, annoying pounding and lack of skilled musicianship isn't as common as it would be in bands like Marduk, Cannibal Corpse or Six Feet Under. So basically, it's as hard as the more popular darker bands and unlike some of the more popular bands, the band has talent. I'd recommend the lp to anybody who liked DeRide, Cradle of Filth, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Killswitch Engage, Slipknot, Chimaira (more or less) or even Static-X and Meshuggah, simply because those are all darker bands, except for Killswitch Engage, who have really talented musicians, and because the screamer will somewhat remind you of Jesse David Leach of KsE. So, yeah. . .check this out.

this lp was definitely worth standing in the store and listening to. the songs are relatively tight. it's borderline death metal, but the band has actual musical talent, so you can't call it that, cuz there's more than just pounding. as a musician I'd have to say the band isn't a standout, but they are Black metal without any keyboard, so they stick out. i'd place them with Slayer, Anathema, Most Precious Blood (hardcore, not black metal). Crematorium's opening track is pretty impressive. sure....as a darker style band the tracks get very predictable very fast, but true dark metal fans buy the album because thatz what they want. If you liked....ill say Dimmu Borgir, Opeth or My Dying Bride the album will be kind of bland to you but you might still like it. decent instrumentation, i like the guitarists riff styles. the drummer isn't anything special, i think that andols herrick (chimaira) and the drummer from Marduk are both better, but he's good. id say that.....it's pretty predictable but it beats the hell out of Cannibal Corpse anyday. so yeah...id say buy it. but if you think slipknot is the hardest band ever the crematorium sound could give you a heartattack.

I will start off to counter the other reviewer... This album is in No Way "Black Metal without Keyboards" why did he review it twice? is he in the band? The album was a major disappointment. Vocals are flat, the instrumentation is not varied and the drummer is weak. To say that death metal lacks talent? can this guy do 600 stroke per minute on double bass? 1000 stroke? How bout solos? nope... not on this album. Listen to Nile. Thats
pounding death metal... with talent. Nothing interesting or innovative here.

Black metal ... hahhahhhahahha what a joke.
