These live tracks, taken from Dispatch's last two concerts ever, are excellent. Since it will never be possible (at least for quite some time) to see Dispatch live again, these CDs and DVD are the closest you can get to the real thing. 3.0 out of 5 stars Good Customer service.
They sent the wrong CD, I never received the Dispatch CD. Instead I received a jazz cd. My money was promptly refunded.

5.0 out of 5 stars Go Buy it Now., November 9, 2004

By reading this review, you are wasting time you should be spending buying this CD. While no recording will ever capture the sheer craziness of a concert, this one does a pretty good job
I will give a number of reasons why you should buy it...
1. 15 bucks for 2 cds and a dvd is an amazing deal
2. Two Coins is the best version of any Dispatch song EVER.
3. Guest saxophonist Craig Dreyer is amazing on Here We Go
4. Hear the "last" time General will ever be played (how did they screw it up?
5. Phil Keaggy (guitar), Paulie T (keys) and Reinaldo DeJesus (percussion) all have ridiculous solos that add a new dimension to the music.
6. The energy of the music is great.
7. Bridges is a great song that no one has heard.
8. Outloud/Stir It Up

I could go on and on, any of these reasons alone is enough to buy the CD. The recording quality is DMB-level, and there is a lot of extra commentary (including the "don't break up" chant after Bridges).
The only negatives were that they had to cut a couple songs. Hey, Hey (played rustily at the concert), Flying Horses (should be on the cd), and Cut it Ya Match It (not played) would be welcome additions, but it is no big deal. Buy the cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars An honest review, March 10, 2005

Im gonna be completely honest in my review. I gave APB 5 stars for several reasons. First off is the value. One of Dispatch's modos is People Before Profit. And because of that they are only charging $14.99. With that you get 2 CD's and a DVD. What a deal.

Now onto the actual concert. First off as far as live recordings go this is as good as it gets. Keep in mind its live, but the actual sound quality on the CD's and DVD is amazing. As good as a live concerts can be recorded. Yes they do mess up a little, but hey its live. This happens, its what makes it unique.(see the General)

The set list is pretty much all the top Dispatch songs. Except Flying Horses isnt on it. Since its live, pretty much every version is extended and altered. But thats good. Because to tell the truth, they really do improve on every song. The songs that best illustrate this are Here We Go, Two Coins, and Passerby. They have special guests in many of these songs and the guests really shine is these three. Kraig Dreyer's Saxophone on Here We Go is amazing, as well as Phill Keagey's guitar on Passerby and Paully T's keys on Two Coins.

Once again, this is a CD DVD set for music lovers. There arent that many thrills or bonuses. Just music. The only possible caution is this, they speed up and rock out a bit more in live shows. So if you love Dispatch's mellow side you might not enjoy this as much. There is a little more intensity in their live shows. If you dont like to jam stick to Bang Bang and Silent Steeples.

To any first time Dispatch fan this is a great way to see what Dispatch is really about. Playing music for their fans and having fun. To any long time Dispatch fans....well theres not much to say, you should already have this.

While it is a bittersweet collection due to the memories and realization of possibly no more shows, it is a great tribute to this amazing band, and anyone who has ever enjoed Dispatch will appreciate the collection of songs and guests featured here. Truly a great way to thank their fans.

this is the most amazing thing i own as of now. even though i was there, i cant get over how many people there are and the intensity of the music. this is incredible. i agree that hey hey and flying horses could be on there, but it almost doesnt matter compared to the rest of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing piece of History, November 9, 2004
This review is from: All Points Bulletin (W/Dvd) (Dig) (Audio CD)
This DVD is a MUST BUY for any fan of Dispatch or any fan of great original music. This summer Dispatch through a farewell concert in Boston. It may have been the largest independent music concert in history (some say 110,000 people came to bid Dispatch goodbye).

That amazing concert is now available on this DOUBLE-CD and DVD...This DVD is listed as a "bonus DVD." But rest assured it is an amazing bonus. With hours of HIGH QUALITY concert footage and some cool special features.

About the music though, it's awesome. Some of the jams are just amazing and hearing the energy of this huge crowd is just amazing.

Everyone, you must buy this now! You will not be disappointed.

CD quality is good too, considering it being all live...
Definately one of my best additions to my CD collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars My First Definitely Not My Last, January 11, 2005
This review is from: All Points Bulletin (W/Dvd) (Dig) (Audio CD)
I am blown away. I consider myself pretty musically diverse and buy a great deal of cd's just out of curiosity. But I never even heard of this band. My wife picked it up for me as a gift and I can never thank her enough.

This is am amazing cd. A jam band that doesn't bore. Great hooks, great playing and strong personalities. I am angry that this is the closest I will come to seeing these guys live.

This is a great band and a great cd.
