I had a Coleman 1850 watt portable generator that got stolen and needed a replacement for my S FL home. I need to run the fridge, a portable A/C unit, TV and computer equipment during hurricanes. The Coleman could not do all at the same time. I was debating to go for something really nice like the Hondas or "just go cheap". I opted for the later (as a Honda 3000is is like $2K!). Brandsmart USA has the 3500 watt on sale for $249. MUCH to my surprise this is really a nice unit and QUIET! Sounds more like a Honda than the Coleman. While the Coleman Powersport was a nice unit and served me well for years this pound for pound is a great deal. Started on the first pull. Seems pretty well built too. Time will tell, but thus far I am very pleased!

I bought this one on sale at Aldi's grocery store (believe it or not) for $199 and it's great. Quiet and started the first time. Big tank for hours of use and enough power to run a camper including the air conditioner.
I had a 1500 watt Colman portable generator but it was so loud even 100ft of cord wasn't enough to let you talk while it was running. This one is so quiet you can leave it running through the night. Make sure you fill it with oil before starting. The oil fill is a little inconvenient to reach. Also watch that you get the manual which is packed under the gas tank before starting. You can get wheels to fit it at any hardware store.

Great little generator,
This review is from: All Power America APG3008E 3,500 Watt 6.5 HP OHV 4-Cycle Gas Powered Portable Generator (Lawn & Patio)
I bought this earlier in the year before a big snow storm. I tested it out and it worked fine but the storm never knocked out power. Last night we had some wicked spring storms roll through and knock out power late in the evening. After a few hours I decided to fire up the generator and plug in the fridge as we had just stocked it. It took about 10 cranks or so to get the thing started but once it cranked it just purred. It was probably slow to start because I forgot to add fuel stabilizer to the tank before I stored it away 3 months ago. The generator ran for 8 hours straight on a full tank (minus a little I had used during testing). It ran my fridge, coffee maker, microwave, internet router and TV just fine. I was just filling it up for another round when the power came back on.
Noise: The generator is pretty quiet. My neighbor and I stood a few feet from it and had a converstaion in a pretty normal tone. Its a steady drone and it quickly becomes background noise. Portability: Buy the wheels at your hardware store. I havent bought mine yet and I wish I had. With a full tank of gas its pretty heavy. Dont try to move it if you have back problems. Ease of setup and instructions: It was very easy to get going. The manual was ok but they didnt label the pictures. They refer to them in the instructions but they forgot to label them. I had to add oil so be prepared for that (easy enough to do). One of the wires to the Starter switch was loose at its coupling and I had to push it back in. Took me about 20 minutes to unpack it, add-oil, read the manual and start it. Summary: I have never owned my own generator before so I dont have much to compare it to. I only gave it 4 stars becuase for me a 5 star is perfection. Would I buy it again? Yes, it served its purpose just fine after this last storm. It allowed me to get back on the internet and work, kept the fridge cold and made my coffee hot! Hope my review helps you. If I ever have problems with the generator I will certainly update my post.

Have used this generator on 3 hunting trips to power our 30ft camper, running it some during the day and then all night over 7 days & nights. Started right up everytime, fairly efficient on gas powering furnace fan, frig, microwave, lighting and tv/dvd. Ran over 8hrs overnight on full tank full. Little noisy, but just placed a double wide folding table (folds in middle) on it's side and a piece of plywood on top to direct the sound. It no where a quiet as a Honda but it doesn't cost $2000 either. If it was quieter I'd give it a full 5 stars,I recommend it.
