My father, who was and still is the cook in my childhood home, used this cookbook so much it is now beyond ragged. I bought a used original edition copy on EBay awhile ago for myself, but I was very excited to see that it was reissued and I bought two more copies for my brother and cousin. The recipes in this book are excellent. My husband swears by the pancake batter recipe. My father has made every pie, cookie, roll etc recipe. You will not regret ordering this cookbook.

My mother swore by the Purity Cookbook. I always remembered the great meals that were based on it's recipes. When I saw that it was again in print I had to get it. Great cookbook.

I agree! Mum is Canadian and brought the book with her when she married Dad, who is Australian. She used it before that when she was living in Papua & New Guinea. Then she used the book in Australia when we were growing up, so the book is now held together by rubber bands!! It has some great recipes in it, and my sister was going to re-type the whole book until she saw this on Amazon! She told Mum and Mum told me. We're going to ask my aunt from Canada if she'll bring some copies over with her when she visits this year!

I grew up with first my mother cooking with this book, then as I got older, I used it for everything! My mother's copy got so rough looking over the years, but up until just recently, they were not reprinting anymore. My sisters and I would always call our mother to read recipes over the phone. The recipes are easy to follow and so delicious. It is a must for every household! I am just so thrilled that I have my very own copy!!!

My mother gave me one of these cook books when I moved out on my own. I have used it all my life. My mom had one before that. I just bought the new one to give to my daughter. It has most of the family recipes that have been used in my home, family home for over 90 yrs. My favorite is Mother's Chicken and Dumplings. Enough Said.

From since I can remember as a young girl from Guyana, my mom always talked about these recipes. When I found the book on amazon.com, I was trilled!!! I bought a copy for myself but when I showed it to my mom she was so excited that I gave it to her and got bought another copy for myself. Can't wait to try some of these dishes. The book came in before the scheduled delivery date and in excellent condition.

When I was growing up my Grandma gave my Mom the red cover Purity cookbook now that is an old cookbook now thankful it did not get damaged in the flood I had, great cookbook I also like this one hopefully they come out with more

Nothing fancy but great tips on "how to" throughout the book. They are recipes for how things used to be. Not overly fancy, but you have the ingredients on hand and the results are tried and true. Great for beginners and a nice to have for pros who want something comforting.

Lost my original hard cover copy and was delighted to get the new publication. Best down to earth home cooking book ever. Helpful tips and suggestions are tremendous especially for the newer cook. A definite must have for the kitchen. Fabulous book for getting back to the basics again. Great for a wedding shower gift or house warming gift for the young cook. Simple ingredients and follow along pictures.
