This is a handy kitchen tool I added to an order to round out the shipping. I was in the market for a silicone spatula for use with non-stick griddle.
I thought I was getting a bit oddly shaped, but otherwise normal spatula of the flipping variety (vs bowl wiping variety). But this tool is a hybrid of the two. The photo is deceiving, I think, unless you know what you're looking at.
You're looking at a 13" Reinforced Silicone Scimitar. You hold & wield the tool like a chef's knife, but it is slightly flexible like a fillet knife. This make this movement for going underneath something much more natural, in the wrist more than elbow. This spatula would make a great prop for a child's pirate costume.
But it is too narrow to lift anything in the usual manner, I'm learning the technique of flipping and lifting simultaneously, but you may find yourself grabbing another spatula after loosening your food. It is great for thin omelettes on flat griddles, and pancakes which are the perfect consistency for this tool. It is also handy for serving pizza slices, and getting into the bottom of the peanut butter jar.
This is my first choice spatula in the kitchen now for most uses, is simply better than other wiping spatula shapes, and very handy for many flipping tasks as well.

I bought this thing on a whim. It looked neat, and I wanted to meet the $25 mark to get the free Amazon shipping. Now I'm here to buy another one. :-) We use this spatula for everything! French toast, eggs, pancakes, crepes, spreading frosting... I love it!

I bought this when my old plastic/nylon/whatever spatula broke. I expected it would take a while for me to get comfortable with something this different from a traditional spatula. I really only wanted this for eggs or pancakes -- I use tongs for meat.

I've used it for several weeks now and successfully flipping an egg over easy is still iffy. When I first try to get it under the egg it starts sliding the egg around the griddle before I get it under far enough to flip. I end up chasing the egg around the griddle and frequently break the yolk (I hate that!) before I get it flipped. I usually spray the griddle with a little butter-flavored cooking spray so maybe I need to spray the flipper also. Hopefully it will slide under more easily if both the pan and the flipper are sprayed.
