This is a handy kitchen tool I added to an order to round out the shipping. I was in the market for a silicone spatula for use with non-stick griddle.
I thought I was getting a bit oddly shaped, but otherwise normal spatula of the flipping variety (vs bowl wiping variety). But this tool is a hybrid of the two. The photo is deceiving, I think, unless you know what you're looking at.
You're looking at a 13" Reinforced Silicone Scimitar. You hold & wield the tool like a chef's knife, but it is slightly flexible like a fillet knife. This make this movement for going underneath something much more natural, in the wrist more than elbow. This spatula would make a great prop for a child's pirate costume.
But it is too narrow to lift anything in the usual manner, I'm learning the technique of flipping and lifting simultaneously, but you may find yourself grabbing another spatula after loosening your food. It is great for thin omelettes on flat griddles, and pancakes which are the perfect consistency for this tool. It is also handy for serving pizza slices, and getting into the bottom of the peanut butter jar.
This is my first choice spatula in the kitchen now for most uses, is simply better than other wiping spatula shapes, and very handy for many flipping tasks as well.

I bought this thing on a whim. It looked neat, and I wanted to meet the $25 mark to get the free Amazon shipping. Now I'm here to buy another one. :-) We use this spatula for everything! French toast, eggs, pancakes, crepes, spreading frosting... I love it!

I bought this when my old plastic/nylon/whatever spatula broke. I expected it would take a while for me to get comfortable with something this different from a traditional spatula. I really only wanted this for eggs or pancakes -- I use tongs for meat.

I've used it for several weeks now and successfully flipping an egg over easy is still iffy. When I first try to get it under the egg it starts sliding the egg around the griddle before I get it under far enough to flip. I end up chasing the egg around the griddle and frequently break the yolk (I hate that!) before I get it flipped. I usually spray the griddle with a little butter-flavored cooking spray so maybe I need to spray the flipper also. Hopefully it will slide under more easily if both the pan and the flipper are sprayed.

This turner may look a bit strange, but after using it for a while I really like the odd little tool. The thing about it is that it has such a variety of uses. The longer I use it, the better I like it.

Survives the dishwasher, scrapes everything it can get into (especially the top edges of mayonnaise & peanut butter jars). Cleans mixing bowls like champ. It will improve your relationships with your blender and counter top mixer. Deftly handles crepes, omelets and frosting. Even makes "folding" fun!

It's a great kitchen tool that you didn't know you were missing. Makes a perfect gift for the newlyweds and foodies in your life.

I love these spatulas. They're black, so they look nice in the crock on my counter. They wash up in the dishwasher like a dream. They don't melt around the edges like plastic spatulas do. Wish they were more affordable, but they're almost worth the price!

I like this thing and have to hand it to whoever came up with it. It serves a lot of purposes around the kitchen and is very handy to have around. Its also very well designed and the materials are perfect. It's got the ideal flexibility, not too much, not too little, that makes allows it to work well for whatever purposes you come up with.

I'm still getting used to it. Smaller surface than a spatula but it seams to work quite well. It's quite long so flipping a heavy steak may not be the easiest project- that's what the tongs are for. I was uncertain about how it would do for eggs but it worked quite well.

It works very well for it's intended purpose but it also works well as a "cake helper"!! If you have a cake that sticks to the pan a little, this Orka All-Purpose 13-Inch Turner/Flipper, Black is the perfect implement to slide down inside the pan to loosen it and not worry about scratching the pan! Comfortable in the hand once you get used to it. Quality item.
