5.0 out of 5 stars Tom Petty meets Melissa Etheridge, September 28, 2001

This CD rocks! There's some 70s "big rock," some confessional songwriting, and a lot of great pop hooks. Can't wait to see her live.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good solo debut by former member of Exit 159 and Frogpond, September 25, 2001

This is the first full length solo release by the leader of Kansas City favorite Exit 159. A series of songs about relationships and the cycles they go through, all written by Stremel and Guitarist Chris Meck. Standout tracks are "Good to You" and "All I Really Want" which illustrate the influence of rockers Joan Jett and Melissa Etheridge on Kristie's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the 10 best cd's I own, March 18, 2002

I recently bought this cd and all I can say is wow. I haven't stopped listening to it yet. From beginng to end it's an amazing album. I own a lot of cd's (over 500) and this one is one of the best. I can't even pick a favorite track. And she is amazing live too. Kristie was just here in Dallas this past week and the show was great, only downside is no one else here knows who she is and I was the only one there to see her. I had the good fortune of meeting Kristie and the band after the show and they are all extremely nice. If you are looking for the next big female musician Kristie is it. She's gonna be huge, mark my word. All I Really Want is worth the money. And all I really want is for Kristie to get the recognition she deserves.

Though i know that the music is the most important part, i like to share with you all, especially the customers out of Europe, that the same CD is available in Europe, but with a different cover. On this cover Kristie switched into a blond stunning young girl , without glasses, but with Tattoo and with a cowboy hat. But still the music is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars FELLOW HAYS NATIVE REVIEW, December 20, 2001
This review is from: All I Really Want (Audio CD)
Like Kristie Stremel, I am from Hays, KS. I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting this talented young artist in person. If you are ready for Pat Benatar meets Melissa Etheridge - or Joan Jett meets Gwen Stefani, then you are ready for this CD. More than the music itself, is lyrics that are deeply seated. This is the perfect example of artistic expression. I, myself, am an graphic artist and only hope the message I convey is often as clear and expressive as this. Spine-tingling lyrics combined with a pure talent in her partner, Chris Meck, this CD is sure to have one track out there for everyone. It is really like a small journey from start to finish. With soulful ballads to pure jammin tunes, there is something for all, but never lacking in content in lyrics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heartland Heartthrob, January 18, 2005
This review is from: All I Really Want (Audio CD)
In my opinion this is Stremel's finest album to date. She sings about love and timidity in a unique blend country and rock-and-roll. She sounds like the love child of Joan Jett and the Man in Black. Stremel really shines in concert. If you have the chance, go see her. Check http://www.kristiestremel.com/schedule.php for updates on her tours. She is truely one rock star to watch for in the future.
