Fantastic! The only really mature album from a Disney star., November 18, 2009
I'm 26 and I'm I guy. Not one of those that can't stand the ever popular Disney style pop, but still one of those who doesn't like it to much. I have to listen to it because I have a lot of fans in my family. I find the "soundtrack" stuff - like the Hannah Montana CDs something for small kids only, Miley Cyrus's Breakout & new EP are much better and easy to listen. Demi Lovato's, Ashley Tisdale's & Selena Gomez's CDs are completely not my style, just way to loud pop-rock material. And Vanessa Hudgens songs are something I can't stand. So I was less then thrilled when another "Disney star" made a CD. But I had some hope's as this one was not under the Disney label. And it really is a blast. The songs are more rock with a bit of country then pop and appeal more to people of all ages. Also the texts don't show the work of the same crews and censors over again. I was very sad, when Demi Lovato chose to make CDs under the Hollywood Records label instead of following her own more rock sound. Emily didn't make that mistake and followed her own path. And the effect is great. People of all ages should enjoy this EP. Let's hope the upcoming album is just as good.

Not what you'd expect at all -- much, much better, November 25, 2009
I've never reviewed a CD before, but I had to for this one. I bought this because I had a $5 credit on my account and figured "why not?" I was expecting another Disney machine album of pop songs. I couldn't have been more wrong. Emily Osment is a fantastic mixture of Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift and the Plain White T's. She has an unbelievable flair for somehow simultaneously toeing the line between punk, rock, and even a little bit of a country feel. Lyrically, the album is significantly more mature than other Disney artists -- not mature as in controversial, but simply better-written (even more impressive when considering Emily wrote the songs herself).
Given the opportunity, Emily Osment's album could compete with any song on the Top 40 today. It's deserving of an audience far broader than the typical Disney tweens. I'm a 22-year-old male, and I'm not the least bit embarrassed to have this CD blaring in my car. Really a must-own.

Amazing EP, November 10, 2009
In Hannah Montana Emily plays Lilly who has NOO singing talent whatsoever, what I don't get is how the producers could hide her talent but showcase lame-o Mitchel Mussos! Emily is an amazing talent! Having had a hand in the writing of all the tracks on this EP! There is infectious pop and even a little country represented here! I Love "I Hate The Homecoming Queen"! She is a teenager with great potential, and a great voice! She should not be missed!
