5.0 out of 5 stars Great Travelling Companion
This is a great book - unlike other Yosemite guide books, 'All Roads'covers the surrounding area in great detail. Most people visiting the park miss all the things there are to do on the roads that get you there. Another review commented on difficulty with maps, but that isn't a problem. If you call the publishers (on their 800 number), they'll send you a handy free...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good info, but confusing maps
For first time visitors, this book provides good suggestions on thing to do in and around the great park. Even for frequent visitors, the information on lodging and dining can be very handy.

Most people visiting the park miss all the things there are to do on the roads that get you there. Another review commented on difficulty with maps, but that isn't a problem. If you call the publishers (on their 800 number), they'll send you a handy free map insert to correct the printing problem. They told me anyone can call to get a replacement map. This book would make a great Xmas gift for friends or family planning to visit the park next year.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good info, but confusing maps, October 13, 1999

For first time visitors, this book provides good suggestions on thing to do in and around the great park. Even for frequent visitors, the information on lodging and dining can be very handy.

The maps are poor, however, as in most of them the last digit of the highways have been cut off, making them confusing if not down right misleading, especially for those not very familiar with the area. The maps on the end papers are especially confusing, showing as they do the two halves of the park, but offset by perhaps 25 miles.

Useful reference book, but get your own map.

To add to the first review: This is an excellent book for anyone coming to Yosemite. No other book gives this broad a coverage in such a well organized way. We suggest this book to those guests who are making reservations with us. It's so good that our complimentary copy has gone walkabout. So we are ordering 3 more. 5.0 out of 5 stars One of a kind, Guide to Yosemite and it's Gateways, April 21, 1999
By A Customer
Whether you are planning a trip of a lifetime or a quick weekend getaway this guide book is a wealth of information. It is easy to use. Each entrance to the park and the park itself have a section in the book that is color coded for finding information quickly. The information is presented in a concise format. If you need lodging, dining, activities, community calendars, history or even phone numbers, this guide has it. There are many invaluable guidebooks to Yosemite but this one goes one step further than most. It includes some of the most treasured commodities a traveler needs...food, Lodging, and accurate information. Few people realize that Yosemite has 4 Gateways and exactly how to use them. This book takes the mystery out of their travel and puts fun and adventure into an not so ordinary road trip. You won't be sorry you purchased this guide. Did I mention the great photos?

3.0 out of 5 stars Good info, but no info about camping, September 13, 1999
By A Customer
This seems to be a pretty good book on all aspects of Yosemite, except that it doesn't give any information about camping.
