4.0 out of 5 stars Solid third entry, December 31, 2003
This review is from: For All the Saints: Indelible Grace III (Audio CD)
This the third entry in the Indelible Grace series has a more somber feel than the previous projects. Though somber and serious the disk isn't oppressive in its theme. Rather it points us to Christ in the midst of our brokenness. As far as musical style this disk has more in common with the first cd in the series, (less of the rootsy, Americana feel found on the second cd). Overall a nice, cohesive cd that stands up well with the rest of the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars SAME BASE CURVE, BUT BETTER, January 20, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: For All the Saints: Indelible Grace III (Audio CD)
It's an outstanding idea -- take the older hymns with their solid lyrical content (rather than what amounts to mindless fluffy repetitions in many modern praise-worship choruses) and wed the content with folk-rock music (not hard rock, or rock-n-roll!) played and sung by talented artists, and you have a work that engages both mind and heart. Everybody who's heard this CD -- Christians, non-Christians, pre-teens, teens, young adults, etc. -- responds somewhere between really liking it and raving about it. This CD is like the first two, with the same "base curve," but it expands upon the musical concepts offered in the first two works and is in my opinion the best one yet. It plays on my car CD player constantly. You will throughly ENJOY this well-produced, engaging CD!

Excellent collection of ancient hymns in contemporary music, the third album done by Indelible Grace from Belmont University's RUF group. The church needs LOTS more of this. Awesome.

An excellent CD. Dan Haseltine of Jars of Clay sings the title song, "For All The Saints," which has a new melody. "Jesus I Come" is sung by the talented Matthew Perryman Jones, and the whole CD is full of awesome hymn-texts set to music that is somewhat akin at times to the music on the "Glory Revealed" CD that came out from Mac Powell and an array of others about a year and a half ago. An excellent worship CD...highly recommended!
