Unlike the Griffey series of N64 games, ASB2K takes a more simulation-oriented approach to baseball. This is most definitely a plus, as even old fogeys will appreciate the realism and playability. Graphically, ASB is presented in a very true-to-life TV presentation style. You see the players (and umps) take the field, you see each player wander up to the plate, and the prerequisite following of the player around the bases after a homerun. Each pitcher has a particular arsenal of pitches which can be thrown with pinpoint precision, resulting in a very cool pitcher-batter interface that, if you get good enough, can mean making you're opponent look REALLY bad striking out. Batting is effective with a contact icon that the batter lines up with the pitched ball. Each batter also has a strike-zone broken down into four areas that are colored either blue (can't hit those well), or red (look out, don't pitch here!) The better players have almost all red, while the scrubs have abundant blue. Fielding is easy enough, and two different throws (standard, and "close call!") ensure that the ball gets there when you want it to. Complete Major League rosters mean each guy actually looks like he should, with names on the jerseys (except, of course, the Yankees, that's realism!) There is really nothing NOT to like, unless you absolutely REQUIRE a faster paced, easier to learn, arcade-style baseball game. In which case, Griffey is your bag. But for those of us who want to experience REAL baseball, All-Star Baseball 2000 is a must-have.

All-Star Baseball 2000 is one of the best modern baseball games for any system. There is such a wealth of statistics that those of you who follow the baseball number game are sure to be pleased. The best parts of this game are the graphics and animations. The high resolution graphics are very very sharp. Each stadium looks like a photograph, and sitting far from the TV will make you look twice to make sure it isn't a live broadcast of an actual game. There are many different animations that are represented so well in the instant replay mode that I found myself replaying my diving catches more than once. However, this game is slow, and those of you who want an arcade, fast-paced game will have to look elsewhere. The expansion pak helps too, since without it the game runs choppier and too slow. Although there are some minor bugs(sometimes the night games turn out to be day games), this is THE baseball game to have on the Nintendo 64. Much more polished than ASB 99.

This game is undoubtedly the best sports game I haveplayed. The batting is very fun, and surprisingly, so is being on defense. It's very easy to strike the computer out, and I think that that's a little unrealistic. I am not much of a baseball fan, but this game was very fun. I recommend you buy it.

me and my buddies played that hell out of this game back in the day. i liked the pitching controls. but, i almost stomped on my 64 after derek jeter singled and blew my no hitter in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs. oh well. almost had a perfect game. i think i'll get this game again and see if i can toss a no-no. i don't care for most of the newer BB games i've played. i remember this game as being really fun. best played in 2 player mode.

Bring yourself out to the ball game with All-Star Baseball 2000. This baseball game is the top sporting game for N64. The graphics are great. The gameplay is fairly easy. The real-life characteristics are fantastic. The game features real-life faces, real-life stances, and also create a player. You csn create a player of anything you dreamed of. You choose his name, height, weight, stance, position, his dress code, how he swings, his player attributes, and so on. Then you can take him from the free agency list and put him on your favorite team. Great standium graphics, cool weather effects from clear - snow. You can play in the daytime, twilight, or night. Every player does the same gameplay as they do in real life. You can trade players. For batting practice, play homerun derby. The game also includes Season mode. This game is the ultimate baseball game.

all-star baseball 2000 is pretty good- there is a few problems with it though. it will get boring after awhile and it is way too expensive. it is also kind of dissapointing when you beat the game- it takes forever to beat all the individaul baseball games and then the end thing is really boring and stupid. it is also too easy to hit a home run. other than that, it will keep you hooked and is pretty fun.

This is one of the best baseball themed games to come. The play control is great, and the graphics even better. The Expansion Pack brings everything together perfecly. I think that the rosters are excellent, and the trade and call-up features make the game even better. The addition of John Sterling and Michael Kay, the voices of the New York Yankees, complete the game.
