1.0 out of 5 stars I didn't think it was possible..., November 17, 2009
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars

This review is from: All Star Cheer 2 (Video Game)
I didn't think it was possible to make a game more frustating than All Star Cheer Squad 2's (ASCS-2) predecessor, but they have really outdone themselves. In this game, you continue where the old game left off- as captain of Tiger Squad. You will lead your team in a number of international cheerleading competitions to fend off the Fox Squad. Fortunately, this new version does not require you to complete a number of practices to learn each individual series of moves. The game assumes you know the positions for the basic moves already and jumps right into long, complicated sequences. If it's been awhile since you played ASCS-1 you might want to use it to brush up on your moves. For the starting level of difficulty on ASCS-2, you should have made it at least halfway through ASCS-1. This version also includes some new aerial moves to learn, but the moves still do not feel intuitive.

One update that I looked forward to was being able to use two Wii remotes to complete the moves (I thought it would make the game more responsive than ASCS-1). I was incredibly wrong. It seemed as if none of my moves registered, and I was pretty good on ASCS-1. It was very frustrating, and ultimately deterred me from even caring about the game. You can still use the Wii nunchuck and remote option, and you can use the balance board as well. Also, ASCS-2 still has all of the annoying dialouge and takes a long time to transition between scenes. The graphics are slightly improved. The game designers should just go back to the drawing board.

I can't think of any other gripes about the game, but I can't think of anything I like about it either. I think I'll just stick to We Cheer, as it is much more fun and interactive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome game, lots of fun, February 15, 2010

I cheered when I was in school for 8 years, and am now looking into coaching. This game does a great job of using authentic and accurate cheerleading moves. I love that it uses two controllers and the balance board-great experience overall. I would recommend this game to any cheerleader for help with practicing. Of course, this should be in addition to formal practice, but this game offers a fun activity that really can build skills.

1.0 out of 5 stars Same game - different music, January 7, 2010
A Kid's Review
This review is from: All Star Cheer 2 (Video Game)
Short and simple from my 6 year old daughter. The game differs little from the original with the exception of the music. Wii Cheer (& 2) is the game my daughter prefers.
