This is the book that made me stop reading the series...,

This review is from: All the Sweet Tomorrows (Mass Market Paperback)
I was very into the first Skye O'Malley novel, and I couldn't wait to read the next one. Well I read this and I was so upset. I cried so much! I don't want to give away anything with this book, but I was so incredibly disappointed with the direction Skye's life (who she ends up with) took that I just decided to stop reading the series. I loved Niall and I loved Skye with Niall. That's all I can say. I can't express the way I felt when I read this book. I don't even think I finished reading this book after the "major part". I just knew what was going to happen and I knew I was going to hate it. I know this review is very discombobulated, but it's very difficult for me to write about this book without giving anything away (I hate when other reviewers do that). Still, I give this book three stars because of Bertrice Small's ability to move me to the point of hysterical tears. I also had to write her a letter because I was so upset. Oh, well.

I read Skye O'Malley. I was so involved and so there that I order all the Skye O'Malley series. When part 2 "all the sweet tomorrows" came in, I couldn't wait for the kids to go to bed so I can read. By the second night, I was so upset of how things turned out I was looking for reasons not to read it. I found this book emotional but unrealistic. Even in fantasy world where I like to escape to. Noone can love that many men. Come on, 6 husbands. And feel love for all of them. I thought that Niall was the most wonderful male character of all time. I really wanted the opposite to happen. Don't get me wrong I liked Adam as well. But if a man I was involved with called me "little girl" it wouldn't be a turn on.

This is a very exciting sequel to SKYE O'MALLEY. The action resumes a couple of years after the end of SO. Skye is at last happily married to Niall and in her proper place as the chatelaine of Burke Castle. But with the sudden death of her father-in-law, all goes wrong, and her world is topsy turvy. Niall, who supposedly was murdered by his insane first wife, is reported to be alive; unfortunately, he's now the sex toy of a spoiled Moroccan princess, and to get him back, Skye herself has to pose as a Moroccan's sex toy. I don't want to divulge what happens after this, as I don't want to ruin it for anyone contemplating reading this book, but it's anticlimatic and probably THE most disappointing thing to happen in any Bertrice Small novel.I thought the Nicholas character was unfairly treated and badly hurt. Skye led him down the primrose path only to dis him at the mention that Niall was alive. And the hurt brough upon Nicholas was especially senseless and unfair in light of how the Niall situation turned out. A handsome, kind-hearted man who would have laid down his life for Skye got his heart broken for no good reason. I liked Adam -- he was the strongest and most positive character in the book. He was both a good friend and good lover to Skye. I also liked his family, who were all as positive and uplifting as he was.

Good but something was missing...,

This review is from: All the Sweet Tomorrows (Mass Market Paperback)
After reading Skye#1, which I loved so much, I couldn't wait to read the ongoing adventures of Skye and her family. I thought the plotline was not as strong as the first book. Plus I was really disappointed with the efforts that Skye went through to find Niall and then to come up short at the end. Plus my preference was for Skye to find true happiness with Niall. One moment she's declaring him her "last love" and in a heartbeat she realizes that she's deeply in love with Adam. I like Adam but there was just something missing for me in his chemistry w/ Skye. I didn't fall in love with him as I did with Khalid, Geoffrey + Niall. It could be his constant endearment to her as "little girl" that was annoying.
Overall the book was good but not as great as Skye#1. The first book was richer in character development and storyline. Still for those who are curious about the ongoing drama with Skye O'Malley, this book is adequate enough.

Betrice Small must be the Queen of Erotic writing. Her words flow through the story easily. An the stories are well researched in historical facts. I would recommend this book for the adventure minded.

Skye O'Malley follows her destiny!,

For anyone who read "Skye O'Malley", this book exactly depicted her destiny as predicted by Osman, her astrologer and good friend. The depravity seemed cruel to some readers, but this is how it truely was for women during this period in time. I wanted to be this woman! She took her world as it was and molded it to her will. Bertrice Small has given me a wonderful woman to identify with, strong, determined, and yet with a wonderfully forgiving spirit. I am frantically collecting all the series before they go out of print!

Small brings Skye to life. You laugh with her, you cry with her, you travel through time to places you could only dream of. You come to love and admire Skye as the strong woman we all want to be, as well as the tender, loving, passionate woman we all try to be. I have every one of the books in The Skye O'Malley Saga! I wouldn't give them up for anything!!

Skye O'Malley was awesome to read and this comes in a close second for me. Bertrice Small stories just keep going on and on (in a good way for the reader). I am not going to say much about the story other than if your faint at heart don't read it. The harem scenes are tough to take but it all works out in the end. Good characters. I would recommend this book. I'm starting the third of the series so I hope if continues to as good and the first two.
