I can only echo what the other reviwers have said about Carol Duboc. I caught her at a show quite by accident and was blown away by the sultry sexiness of her personna, not to mention her voice. It is captivating in an indescribable way.

What makes this CD fresh is the fact that all of these songs are Carol's compositions. While it is wonderful to hear old standards sung by a variety of artists, Carol breaks the mold by giving us a whole CD of her own works. And not only can she sing, she can write a tune. You have the distinct impression that each song was written from a very personal perspective, which is why the songs come across as so honest and real.

For me, the title track was very meaningful, as was "Second Nature". (Having gone through a relationship such as the one described, I can vouch for the feelings espressed.) "My Inspiration" is another song that meant alot to me, as those of us who have been looking for inspiration can attest to.

That is just a sampling of her work. But you will be captivated by her voice. It is better than Krall's and far better than Monet's. Check her out!

I was listening to smoothjazz.com, radio station on the internet the other day and I heard a song that caught my ear. You know how that goes. So, I did some investigating and found out it was a new artist name Carol Duboc, on Gold Note Records, singing that song "Second Nature" which caught my ear. By then I had to have the CD, and what a treat. This girl, is what smooth jazz is.........

This CD is so refreshing. Carol Duboc's voice is sexy and soothing. I love the jazzy soulful feel of the music and the live instruments. The whole CD is entertaining because the songs are wonderful and no two songs sound alike. My favorite songs are "My Inspiration", "2nd Nature" and "With All That I Am". Carol Duboc is such a great writer, it is nice to hear a whole CD of songs written by the artist. It makes the listening experience much more intimate. I can't wait to see her in concert. Being a fan of Hubert Laws and Gerald Albright, it was great to hear them add their special performances to this already fabulous CD. I highly recommend this CD to jazz lovers as well as people who like sophisticated R&B music... LOVE IT! LOVE IT!

This is the sexiest CD I have ever heard. With all due respect to Diana Krall, Carol Duboc has a new brand of soulful jazz that is original and unique and takes it all to another level. I saw Carol perform live when I was in Los Angeles on business last year, and loved her then. Fortunately, I got on her mailing list and heard of her new release. I have played it over and over since I bought it through smoothjazz.com., and I am glad to see that you can now buy it through Amazon.com. She is sexy, the CD is sexy, and I am a fan for life.

This CD is beautiful, original and entertaining. It really sets a romantic mood and keeps it to the end of the CD. The kind of mood that goes with candle light, wine, and a sensitive, sophisticated partner. I love the song "The Promise". It is my favorite on the CD and is now one of my favorite songs ever. I also like "Get Around". Carol Duboc does not sound like any one else. She has the kind of unique voice that you recognize right away no matter what she is singing. I am so glad she came along, and I look forward to her next release.
