This is yet another in a wonderful series of music by Michael Bolton. This music is as wonderful to hear as it is to feel. The earthy, smoky quality of his voice penetrates right through you. I am a long time fan, and hope a new CD will be coming soon! I am never disappointed by the quality and emotion of this music.

Good enough for adult contemporary pop,

I see nothing wrong with a singer pleasing his audience. Obviously, many reading this review will enjoy his style which is sort of a cross between Barry Manilow and Josh Groban. These are strong, emotional love songs and while they don't express deep and complicated emotions, they are seductive, especially aimed for the gals. And while guys may be less impressed, he's worth studying in order to understand better what reaches his femle audience.

What can I say. I went in to the store looking for the single "Go The Distance", I was unsucessful so I begrudgingly picked up this CD, as I walked to the counter I turneed the Cd over, That's when I saw the song that later Dropped me to the floor the so hard cd skipped. "Safe Place From the Storm" I was so determined to get that song, I forgot about "Go The distance"Anyway. I strongly Recomend this CD because it has something for everone. If it can bring me back after leaving Michael's music for two years because of misinformation. It has to be perfect for someone who never left.

His best Soul not Rock,
By A Customer
This review is from: All That Matters (Audio CD)
This is the best CD he has ever put out. He worked with Diane Warren (Monica, Brandy, Whitney Houston ETC) Babyface, Barry Eastmond (Anita Baker, Barry White), David Foster ( Chaka Khan) , And Jamie Houston ( New comer of soul music industry). The songs have good beats. Safe place from the storm is a hot track with a funky intro a quiet beat and then a Rodney Jerkins type bassline. The Best of Love a Made For Toni Braxton type song. Why Me something only out of Babyface's genius. and then the whole rest is peering as the premier soul I think Bolton is trying to create. Keep making them like this!

Great...If You Like Him,

I can recognize that Michael Bolton does what he does very well. He just doesn't appeal to me personally. I like love songs but generally prefer and older style such as from Sinatra or Bennet. More than that, though, his voice is not as smooth to me as many others. That does not stop this from being a good album for those who like him, though.
The mixes are strong and he is definitely able to belt out the songs. I think that even the songs would appeal to many; I liked many of them but didn't like the performance. Fans should be please. I was underwhelmed.

1997 and Michael's still going strong. He partecipated in Disney's Hercules's soundtrack with GO THE DISTANCE produced by Walter Afanasieff. Afanasieff also produces one of the three Diane Warren-penned tracks appearing on the CD (the others are produced by Guy Roche and Tony Rich). It is the production that this time around brings along a whole new flavour. Michael co-produced most of the tracks and got on board Jamie Houston, Barry J. Eastmond and Keith Thomas as part of this new project. There is no sign of David Foster, Mutt Lange or Desmond Child.

Michael Bolton is my favorite singer, and i have all of his albums (including christmas albums and live albums), and i must say that this is not a bad album. There are plenty of quality songs on this album, such as "Show Her The Way", "Safe Place From The Storm", adn "Can't Get Close Enough To You". The best cuts on this album, in my opinion, are "Let's Make A Longer", "Forever's Just A Matter Of Time", "Why Me', "Let There Be Love", and "Go The Distance". My favorite songs on the album are "Go The Distance", "Forever's Just A Matter Of Time", and "Why Me".

All That Matters being Bolton's 1997 release and his 11th studio album did not meet expectations and peaked at #39 on the Billboard 200. "Go The Distance" his first single peaked at #24 in the US Hot 100 whilst his second single "The Best of Love" failed to chart. The booklet is standard with many fine photographs of Bolton. We also get all the lyrics but not a list of whom plays what on the album. 3/5.

This album kind of confused me. It looks as if Michael Bolton was trying to transform again. But why? It's not like he wasn't selling albums. Maybe the fact that "This Is The Time" was the first time since "The Hunger" not to crack the Top 10 scared him? It's still a good album, though. "The Best Of Love" was a big hit, and "Go The Distance" went to No. 1 and is still my favorite song ever. Not his best at all, but decent nonetheless.

Michael Bolton you are the best !!!,
This review is from: All That Matters (Audio CD)
This CD is one of his best. This guy pored his soul into another classic. I love Michael bolton just as much as Luther Vandross (check out my review for him too) Though he is different genre from Luther. Michael is in a class all by himself. The song "Best of Love" gave me the confidence to go after and win back the Love of my life. This whole CD is a must have!!!
