5.0 out of 5 stars BEAUTIFUL CLASSICAL SIDE OF JORDAN RUDESS December 23, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Let me start by saying that I'm a huge Dream Theater fan. Hard-driving in-your-face progressive rock with all kinds of odd time signatures and lightning-speed riffs from all instrumentalists. Many of Jordan's own keyboard albums have carried this same formula. Don't expect that here - this is some sublime piano music, harkening back to what was certainly his roots in classical music. Very reflective pieces, the only speediness being his arpeggios and coloration. This is truly an album to sit back and relax, and follow a slow meditative musical journey. Thank you Jordan for showing us yet another dimension of your incredible talent!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Real Composer! December 15, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Wow! Beautiful, haunting. His sense of time pulls you in with every thoughtful note. Jordan is a modern day master. Don't hesitate to grab this one. I do wish there was a 192khz version. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, mellow masterpiece December 14, 2013
Format:Audio CD
I'm constantly astounded at Jordan's consistent & diverse output of music. All A+ grade work. From Dream Theater to Levin Minnemann Rudess to this very cool album, he delivers on all fronts. I love this record and thanks Jordan for all the great music!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great solo piano album March 3, 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
An awesome album from Jordan. His playing is top notch as always. I'm a guitarist so you might not want to read this review if you're a pianist.

This album didn't feel as musically diverse as I expected it to be but still nice to listen to. I can understand some of the things going on in this album....but of course I'm nowhere near Jordan's level of musicality so I simply try to enjoy it and not analyze; 1 reason being I'm a guitar player, 2nd reason being because I'm not a music theory guru so it's impossible for me to understand half as much on other instruments as I do guitar.

I find myself listening, analyzing a bit until I get tired of trying, then I simply go off into thinking about things while the music plays. That is a good thing to me. I like that his playing is very soothing so it allows me to feel good, releave stress/tension, and enjoy the music instead of picking everything apart and analyzing it. Awesome album even if you aren't a pianist or musical guru.
