In my opinion, "Unmistakably Lou" is a timeless album with such ever-beautiful gems as "Secret Tears", "Spring Again", "Early Morning Love", "It's Our Anniversary Today" and "We Understand Each Other" making it a perfect choice for playing as background music for an intimate and romantic candlelight dinner for two. "All Things In Time" was Lou's Philadelphia International debut and includs the all-time classics "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" and "Groovy People". Buy it now--you won't regret it!!!

the merging of Philly International&the strong vocal Pipes of Lou Rawls were gold to my ears.Lou Rawls was a Great fit to Gamble&Huff's Creative vision along with the other in house Philly Songwriters&producers.so many tight jams that still sound so smooth.a Great collection at a great price.you always know Lou's voice anywhere.

I had each of these as a single disc, but lost my collection and have to begin again.
To get these to albums together on one disc is a life saver. Thank you Amazon.com.
Some may tink 'Groove People' is smaltzy, but I love the feel of it.
And to be able to hear Someday You'll Be Old' and 'This Song Will Last Forever'

How does one describe Lou Rawls? Pop, Jazz, Blues...ALL OF THE ABOVE! Lou grew up on the south side of Chicago with another R&B legend, Sam Cooke. It was Sam that gave Lou his first shot in a recording studio. Remember "Bring It On Home To Me"? That's Lou on background vocals.

If you think the only noteworthy song Lou did was "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine", you are sadly mistaken. Lou could do the blues, jazz, ballads, and so much more.

On "All Things in Time/Unmistakably Lou" you're basically getting two older CDs in one. Track 1) "You're the One" is a bluesy tune with that swing beat in it also. Track 2) "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" is without a doubt Lou's trade song. It made #2 on Billboard's Top 100; #1 on the R&B and on the Adult Contemporary charts. Track 4) "Groovy People". How 60s & early 70s is that? Track 6) "From Now On" has got that unmistakable TSOP sound. (The Sound Of Philadelphia) Track 10) "See You When I Git There"; The man just wants to get home, see his wife & lock the door. Another classic 'Gamble/Huff' tune. Track 14) "Someday You'll Be Old"; A GREAT swing and/or Imperial dance tune. Track 18) "All the Way"; the timeless "Jimmy Van Heusen; Sammy Cahn" song made famous by Frank Sinatra in the movie "The Joker Is Wild". But Lou doesn't sing it that way. He cranks it up...FAST. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Lou one night and shaking his hand. On January 6th, 2006...I cried. Lou passed away. The DJ in me speaking; he was "My Main Man."
