90s style indie rock,
By nowaveshow "Jack Larson" (Noblesville, Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All of This & More (Audio CD)
Pavement and Sebadoh were two of the most influential indie rock artists of the 90s, and their impact on Staggering Statistics is pronounced. About half the songs are pavementesque with their trademark lo-fi sound, relaxed-tossed off vocals present on the album. On the other half of "All this and more", Sebadoh's distorted bass, edgier, and more aggressive vocals are represented strongly. Some bands don't separate themselves enough from their inspirations, and this is the biggest issue with Staggering Statistics. If you yearn for 90s flavored indie rock you should give Staggering Statistics's "all this and more" a chance.
