Totally disagree with IZZIE - this is an absolute find! Fascinating introductions to each recipe and detailed descriptions on how each writer finally perfected the recipe. Which naturally means a limit to the number of recipes, but still a great read, and I think I will finally make the chocolate cake of my dreams without having to try it 130 as the author did - echoes of Julia Child! If you enjoy the details of what goes into cooking the perfect dish, this is for you - and all the hard work already done.

There are only 52 recipes in this book, hardly worth $6.36. I was hoping for something a bit more
substantial especially since their big cookbook is less than ten bucks. This will teach me to use the
try it before you buy it option.

Why buy a cookbook for my Kindle? I'm retired and travel a good bit. I love to visit friends and as part of my thank you to them for putting us up I like to help out with the cooking. I also like to pack light. Solution - this cookbook on my Kindle. To me their 52 great recipes were worth every dime, especially the moist, not soggy, carrot cake.

While I was at it I also purchased their Italian Favorites. I adore the Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Cutlets and the Chicken Saltimbocca.

To top it all off Cook's Illustrated recipes are a jolly good read.

I love Cook's Illustrated and I have many of their cookbooks and a collection of the magazines. I have never prepared one of the recipes that I did not like. From the Cream Biscuits to a Roasted Chicken that I prepared tonight, always very good.
Very happy to be able to add to Kindle app on my iPad. Cookbooks are much better with color capability.

I've been very pleased with the "All-Time Best Recipes" and have made the carrot cake and the cinnamon rolls several times. I purchased the kindle version, and while it is a little kludgy to use (with my kindle safely zipped up in a gallons plastic bag), I think that's more because of the awkward navigation on a kindle. I would suggest thinking through how to better present the information on a kindle - for example a link to ingredients and a link to steps, as opposed to just one link to the overall recipe, which is preceded by quite a lot of text detailing the recipe development. Not that that isn't interesting, but one should not have to page through all of that each time, just to come to the recipe, nor navigate back to reference directions. Still, the recipes themselves are excellent and I look forward to making more of them.

The recipes in this book are so diverse you can put up a a whole course from this book and make a party. The diversity is sometimes not positive though as this book tends to push diversity. All in all, this book has enough interesting recipes for anyone to try. Found this diverse book after reading BBQ: Learn The Recipes For Your Parties (Healthy Living Series) which has nice recipes for grilling the meat.
