5.0 out of 5 stars WHERE IS THE JUKE BOX?
For the work of art built throughout the times, The Stylistics deserved a re-edition of all their records, released in vinyl, with the original covers, lyrics included, and anything more that a great group deserves. However, what we see is their beautiful work spread in numberless oportunistic collections and just some true re-editions. This record called "All-Time...

3.0 out of 5 stars Selections are by no means in sinc with the essential Stylis
More commercial than I would have liked. The Stylistics were more about change than the comfort of Nat Cole or ELLINGTON Standards. I don't expect ham in a Kosher restaurant.

For the work of art built throughout the times, The Stylistics deserved a re-edition of all their records, released in vinyl, with the original covers, lyrics included, and anything more that a great group deserves. However, what we see is their beautiful work spread in numberless oportunistic collections and just some true re-editions. This record called "All-Time Classic", for example, isn't other but "Once Upon a Juke Box", released in 1976, Hugo & Luigi times, with a beautiful black model, on the cover, showing generouly her legs, beside a beautiful, bright ancient jukebox. Here, The Stylistics recorded only american popular musics from the past, with new arragements. It isn't necessary to say that Russel Thompkins and company offer us a brilliant spectacle (they ALLWAYS do this)! Listen their version for "The Great Pretender", (from The Platters) before (and better than) Fred Mercury... Or the classic "Only you" with an original arrangement (all the arrangements in this album, made by Horace Ott, are different and tasteful)..."Unchained Melody" (from "Ghost" movie), slow, very slow...the feeling and the vocal extent of Russel in "My Funny Valentine"... the accords in "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" forecasting the Disco-Music movement... the sensual "After The Ligths Go Down Low"...the perfection of "Don't worry 'bout me"... Surely, an unforgetable album, except for the cover. We want the original one!
