Great collection of catchy Sinatra jazz/pop, August 20, 2009

This album was a revelation for me as I embarked on a multi-year Sinatra kick. I started with "Best of the Capitol Years", which includes his best recordings from his best period, but this one got me into the early Sinatra, before his voice changed. The Dorsey period saw him building his reputation. he still had enough innocence to sincerely sing sappy pop tunes, and pull them off. Of course the Dorsey band was thoroughly professional and pulled off tight arrangements of catchy hits. This is what made Sinatra famous, and I still listen to it and it sounds fresh every time. Not a bad track on it.
