This review is from: All the Way to Heaven (Audio CD)
When I got it this CD, it originally belonged to my sister. When she got married, my mom and my other sister were browsing through some stuff my married sister left for us, and this CD was one of them. I saw it, and I was interested by the pink and blue colors on the disc. My mom asked my other sister, "should we keep this?", and my sister answered, "I haven't heard from them lately". So, my mom threw the CD in the trash, and when neither of them were looking, I snuck it out, determined to check it out. I listened to the first track, decided to keep it, and it wasn't until two years later that I found out who was in V*Enna, and what other music they had done. Let me review the songs..
All The Way To Heaven: This is the first pop/dance song I remember ever listening to. Interesting for me to think that V*Enna started my huge interest in that genre. This is was the first song that really got V*Enna noticed. It received a ton of radio play, and flew through the charts. Gotta love this signature song!
Sunshine And Rain: The first V*Enna song that I REALLY loved, and I still love it. This song probably has the best lyrics V*Enna ever had in one of their songs.
All The Way To Heaven (Urban mix): This is an awesome remix! It's slower than the original, and gives it more of a jazzy, uplifting groove style. Also featuring a little rap (not done by V*Enna). Very nice!
Sunshine And Rain (Interchangeable mix): This really kicks up the beat! It has a VERY jazzy sound to it, which might have made it just a little bit better. Great jazz bass, guitar, and sound effects. Awesome remix! Very happy sound.
All The Way To Heaven (Supertrap mix): This isn't really what you'd think of as a regular remix. It's a different kind of remix. It's more like a long music mix that you could sing All The Way To Heaven to. The only vocals you hear are just "when all is said and done" and "and when my time has come". The whole sound of the song has a bit of what I call a "dark-techno" effect, but V*Enna did it well.
Karaoke tracks: After the previous five songs, there are karaoke tracks for All The Way To Heaven and Sunshine And Rain. It was a great idea to put the karaoke tracks on the CD, and they're especially fun when you have a karaoke machine.
Overall, I've always enjoyed this CD, even though it is very short.
