Rachael Lampa is back and in a big way!! After her 2004 self-titled album she disappeared for seven years to kind of catch her breath and became a wife. She said in her updated bio on her website that she just needed time to recharge her batteries.
Her new album "All We Need" is incredible and the most autobiographical I think. Every song tells a story of Love, God's unfailing love, and maybe some sadness. "Remedy" is the first single off the album and it talks about no matter what you are going through you can always turn to God and He is all you need!
This album is awesome, having awesome beats true lyrics and God's blessing on it! If you love Christian music this album belongs in your music collection for sure! It will uplift you in a HUGE way even on your worst days!

If you've never heard of Rachael Lampa before, this may be a cd that you will enjoy. If, like me, you've followed her since she was a teen, you may be disappointed by this release. I really anticipated this new release and couldn't wait to hear what great songs and strong ballads she would have up her sleeve. I found neither. Instead I found it to be very techno-dance with all drum machine/digital sounding instruments rather than a kickin' band to back up an amazing voice. I don't feel that the full potential of her voice was showcased at all, except for the two bonus remakes at the end of the album ("Live For You" and "Blessed" 2011 versions). That being said, I do enjoy techno-dance genre of music, but it just wasn't what I was expecting from her. If you like Stacie Orrico, (which I do) you will love this cd...in fact, the exact melody can be found on Stacie's "Stuck" and Rachael's "Remedy". An okay cd in my opinion, just not what I was expecting.

This is a fantastic album. Her voice is great as ever. The musical style picks up from where "Live for You" and "Kaleidoscope" left off; if you're familiar with her work, you'll know that her 3rd self-titled album "Rachael Lampa" was a significant break in style from her 1st and 2nd albums. This album gets back to her original style, while showing the natural progression one would expect after so many years, and sounding entirely contemporary without mimicking anyone. Definitely worth buying.

I'm glad Rachael finally released a new album. I am so happy that she still has the same raw amazing signature voice just like from her 2000 release, Live For You. All we need serves as the updated, contemporary style of Rachael's album. My favorite song on this album (cowritten by taio Cruz) is "Run To You"

This CD is a breath of fresh air. I have not stopped playing it since I purchased it. The music moves and her vocals soar! I cannot name a favorite track because every week my favorites change. I even found the remake of Live for You refreshing and new. This CD is a must have.

When I started to learn about the groups on Season 3 of The Sing-Off, I was surprised to find that one of the newly formed groups included Rachael Lampa. She exploded onto the Christian music scene at 15 in 2000, but pretty much vanished after a third disc was released in 2004. But there she was on the show in the group The Collective, a group of solo artists who have put their careers on hold to try the a cappella thing. And, in a stroke of irony, the very next day saw the release of Rachael's new studio disc, All We Need.

When Rachael debuted in 2000, she was part of the wave of Christian female ten pop artists trying to be the answer to Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. She has stayed with the strong pop sound, and it's very hard not to find yourself taping and humming along almost immediately.

While Rachael is still a pop artist, her sound has matured some and definitely updated. The disc opens with "All We Need," a slick track filled with drums, guitar, and light piano. Like many of the tracks on this disc, the song is upbeat and fun.

But Rachael has never been content to stick with just pop, as she shows with "Remedy," which also is the first single. There's a definitely hip hop bent to this song as she sings about Jesus being the remedy for sin.

The hip hop doesn't stick around for too long, and Rachael is back to pure pop with "Savior's Face," a song that reminds us that all of us are sinners who need God's grace.

My one complaint with Rachael's music over the years is that it can be shallow lyrically. There's certainly some of that here. The first two tracks alone are fairly familiar ideas with little depth. But the pop is so slick that it makes the familiar fun.

I got into Rachael Lampa this year. I'm actually not mad at all that I didn't know about her when she was a 15 year old teen because if I knew her back then, then waiting between her 2004 third release up until 2011 for this would have been catastrophically more disappointing. The good? Well...Rachael's vocal arrangements and songs have more or less adapted to her current vocal range. The intro track with its authentic rock guitars was also not only unexpected but fulfilling. But that's about where the good ends.

These songs could have been sung by anyone in her religious-minded field. The production overall is non-offensive but also doesn't stand out. Too much of it sounds same-y. The lyrics and subject matter also don't seem to differentiate much. HOWEVER, the biggest disappointment is that Rachael's beautiful, soaring vocals are no longer soaring and beautiful. She has always strained some of the power notes as I stated on my review for 2000's Live for You, but at the same time her voice still had power and sounded beautiful. Now it's gone airy and even more strained with even a bit of belting. I don't know if these vocal wonders are not taking care of their voices or if it's because they've been in the business for so long and all the belting (incorrectly?) for all the world is taking a toll, but it's sadly happened to my favorite musical squeeze Mariah Carey too. But even her later releases don't sound this boring and bland. I love Rachael--truly I do--but I would be a fool to actually buy this for one track that's pretty good but doesn't even compare to her older material.
