This whistle is so bright and strong I can barely wait for an emergency, just so I can use it. I have sounded it on numerous occasions, and its voice carries across bays, alpine valleys, and even pierces the roar of thunderstorms. The impact resistant plastic will withstand a nuclear attack, and the handgrip design is more secure than other whistles. Because I use my kayak for hunting purposes in fairly remote areas, I have a wide variety of whistles and other safety gear ... and I can say without hesitation that this particular whistle is my first recourse of action when it comes to attracting attention in an emergency situation. Love this product, will never buy another brand!

I bought this whistle for a neighbor's teenage daughter who who likes to take walks alone in the evening. It's small enough to be conveniently carried on a lanyard where it is easily accessible. It is certainly loud enough to draw the neighbors to their window in the event she needs assistance. Sioux Falls, where I live, is not a high crime city but taking precautions is never a bad idea wherever one is.

I bought this whistle thinking it works underwater since it is listed as "Diving and Safety Whistle"
It does NOT work when submerged slightly. Topside it IS loud. If it cost more I would request refund!

My family can never hear my soft voice even when I yell when we are snorkeling.

One blow on the whistle and they all looked up! Incredible. Loud! It was wet too and that didn't matter at all.
