Great CD.......In my book it is #5 star CD .....It seems unfair that R-Kelly got all the credit when he first started out and then just dumped the group that made him a superstar. P.A. is great, but needed more 'promotion' to show the 'world' where R-Kelly came from!!!

When I first listen to All Work/No Play I was amazed. The beats were tha bomb. And all of the songs on the CD was very interesting and it got my attention instantly. The music made you listen to the words and not just focus on the beats. I listen to the CD everyday or whenever I have the time.

Public Announcement is the group that played the background for R. Kelly's debut and this is their first coming titled All Work, No Play. It's hard to seperate the fact that they are a group all their own, but after listening to their debut it sounds as if R. Kelly is still present in "Body Bumpin' (Yippie-Yi-Yo)" and "Turn The Hands" just for starters. "It's About Time" has the same one, two kick arrangements but has a fuller, soulful chorus involved. Public Announcement is lead by writer Felony Davis and mostly produced by member Earl Robinson as they take control with many subjects and angles to make this release complete. As sexy and heartfelt as some of the titles are the title track gives an example of their talents. The release hit a high note with the "Body Bumpin' (Yippie-Yi-Yo) - R&B Remix" featuring Mingo Valentino and "Alone" for a more up tempo selection worth checking out. "Homey", a personal favoriate, that resembles a Isley Brothers tune with its guitar solo is what places this album in the elite of great albums. You couldn't have a Chicago release without a stepping song as "Y To The Yippie (Step On)" released before R. Kelly made it popular! P.A. also pays their respects to classic r&b with the remake to "Straight From The Heart". All Work, No Play has everything including desert for a full course meal.

Fel has made PA a force 2 be delt with!! I've known the brotha since high school (Gage Park). He and his sister sang in our high school talent show, and they blew it away!! I felt he would persue this and make a name 4 himself. I can't express how proud I am of this man. I've started a small production Co. of my own, it's called "Songs By Matthe'". Although he writes himself, I would hope to produce to the group a song of my own. Keep on giving it 2 them bro, it's your world. GOD BLESS. (312)295-3346 W/VOICE.

I repurchased this album for my wife on Christmas. We used to listen to it together in the early stages of our relationship. We still love it! As one negative reviewer pointed out that it is "smooth". Well indeed it is, as well as well written and executed. If you are a fan of RnB you would like or love this album. If you aren't don't buy it to give it one star. Of the thirteen actual songs, I like about eleven. "Turn the Hands" was and is my joint. Both the music and the words were carefully thought out and arranged. "All Work, No Play" is a classic. If you enjoy 112, Jagged Edge, Dru Hill and similar groups this album is for you.

I have the cassette. Was looking for the ALL WORK NO PLAY Public announcement CD. Of course Itunes didn't even have this one. On to Amazon. The prices were extremely high. Scrolling down. Found one in my price range. The CD arrive brand freaking new with the wrapping, the plastic strips you pull from the top of it and they still make my heart flutter from back in the day. PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT yes yes yes!! I finally found the CD I was looking for!

I just bought this CD today and I have probably listened to it 5 times. This is an all around good CD and I would suggest that everyone who's an R&B fan to buy it also. All of their songs are just great songs. One day I just accidently came across their CD at an online music store, I listened to a few songs and knew I had to get it. I highly recommend this CD to everyone, and if I could I'd give it 6 stars instead of 5.
