5.0 out of 5 stars Super charged bluegrass
This is super charged banjo picking from a band that basically is saying, "This is how down home music would be if they updatedö. The vocals are powerful, strong and the music will definitely get you up and moving. I'm not personally the world's biggest bluegrass fan, but I could easily get into this. 3.0 out of 5 stars Draggin it out
Well I haven't actually listened to this album, but I have seen them plenty o times since Kristen, the original vocalist, left the band. The vocals are powerful, strong and the music will definitely get you up and moving. I'm not personally the world's biggest bluegrass fan, but I could easily get into this. The bluegrass and picking has the feel of a modern day band and at times I could hear them heavily using licks which were heavily influenced by some of my favorite rock bands.

4.0 out of 5 stars Deeee-licious, December 9, 2003
This review is from: All You Can Eat (Audio CD)
The first live CD from this long-running band! Having created a rabid fanbase over years of heavy touring, The Recipe has become one of the signature groups of the intrepid roots music scene. Founded in "porch music", this band's sound combines stellar songwriting and lyrics with a communal spirit that keeps the music unique and celebratory.

Hopefully, they get their stuff together... man, i hope they have another peak coming.
in the meantime, i would recommend a different album such as...
1. love marble hoe down
2. night of the porch people
3. geode
in order of my opinionated ranking
