Think Norah Jones, but even better., April 11, 2005

This soulful, jazzy album is quite a listen. A great vocalist composer, and arranger, Duboc can make a remake sound completely new (listen to track 7, Duboc's version of Sting's "Every Breath You Take"). I heard her sing live, and she sounds just as good in person as she does on her CD. Track 5, "Drowning," is also beautiful. Buy her other two CDs as well; Duboc is not one of those artists whose songs all sound the same. She can do a bit of Latin, R&B and smooth jazz all in one CD.

I Got To Hear These Tunes Live, at Spaghettini, Seal Beach, May 7, 2005

Wow!!! and then some. Carol and her group were simply fabulous.
I highly recommend this CD to anyone who likes jazz and other contemporary music forms, including R&B, etc. I had the distinguished pleasure of acting as Carol's drink chaperone last evening (5/6/05) at The Spaghettini. My table was literally right next to the stage entrance from the aisle. Carol is a charming person and a first-rate performer. She sings with a trained ear, and has great voice control which includes an even resonance. This one is not to be missed.
