5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD, Full of Great Songs, December 10, 2001
By
This review is from: All for You (Audio CD)
This CD is very different than her last, but not in a bad way, or a better way; it's just different. Janet. was great for it's new side to Janet you get to see, Velvet Rope is great because for it's moody side you get to see, and All For You is great for the sunny side you get to see. The first time through, this CD may seem just blah, but the second time through it's wonderful; I know that's odd, but that's just how it was. The CD is full of upbeat songs and peppy songs, but then, as Janet puts it, "there are also the sweat baby-making songs." The CD can be explicit, but that is almost a positive aspect of it, because she doesn't skip over the emotion that she could have, she includes it, but doesn't force it. The Japanese version is even better for the simple fact that it comes with an extra track (that happens to be great). If you have the original, and like/loved it, then get this version to complete the set. If you don't have one yet, then go ahead and splerge and buy the version with the extra track that no one you know will have.

What else can I say...You gotta be a true Janet fan to get this cd!! The bonus song "Who" is AWESOME! It definately should be on the US version of 'All For You' also. This entire CD is one of Janet's best...so if you don't feel like spending big bucks just for one extra song, you HAVE to get the US version...but "Who" is definately worth the $30+, it's an awesome song, upbeat and pumping!!...oh, and by the way, did I mention it's by Janet Jackson...need I say more?!?!?!

'All For You' Japan Version feat. "Who" Bonus Track....*******

Janet's latest effort, All for You, is by far her best and the Japanese version of the CD only adds to the brillance! The bonus track "Who" is ever so funky and finishes the album off with an uptempo, booty-shaking jam. If you bought the U.S. version of the CD, spend [the money] and pick up this version too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh Janet!, May 22, 2009
This review is from: All for You (Audio CD)
I was really surprised by this cd. Janet had been known for teeny-bop songs and to hear the things she says on this cd ("Would you mind?")...I was TOTALLY surprised! I heard about "The Velvet Rope" and even saw a little of the concert on cable years ago, but, this cd is TRULY for adults ONLY. This cd should have been called, "Janet Unleashed"!

This is what I call an excellent album. Janet is the queen. Nobody does music like she does. I love these baby-making songs like: Would you mind, OoH Baby!(love scene), China love... Awesome! Other tracks I love: Doesn't really matter, Truth, Song of a gun, and the bonus track ''Who'' is very hot. Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars All For You, May 20, 2001
This review is from: All for You (Audio CD)
This is the import version of Janet's latest album, All For You. The only difference is it contains a bonus track, the upbeat song titled Who. Its a shame this did not make the US version, or the other versions of this album. Its truly a great song. On this album range with different styles of music: Come On Get Up (house/dance), You Aint Right (funk), Trust A Try (opera/rock), Someone To Call My Lover (pop, samples Ventura Highway), and it also contains a lot of ballads. These ballads are what Janet calls "baby making songs". The best ballads are the sensual Feels So Right, Love Scene, When We Oooh, Would You Mind, and the positive Better Days. There is also a track featuring Carly Simon, Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You) which samples her hit You're So Vain, and features new lines written and spoken by Carly. As well there is the huge hit All For You, which is at its 7th week at #1 right now.

All For You is essential for all of Janet's fans, new and old. It's something for everyone. There is a lot of genres on here, and I think by working with Rockwilder they have brought something new and interesting to the table. The album is somewhat explicit but its a sign of a woman growing into her own person, and once again becoming comfortable with many aspects of life. A must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Janet's best album yet!!, May 28, 2001

ALL FOR YOU IS JANET'S MOST CREATIVE AND GENIUS WORK YET! THE POP, R&B, DANCE SONGS LIKE "ALL FOR YOU," "DOESN'T REALLY MATTER," AND "SOMEONE TO CALL MY LOVER" CAN KEEP A PARTY GOIN'. WHILE, SWEET AND SEXY SONGS LIKE "WOULD YOU MIND,"LOVE SCENE (OOH BABY)," AND "WHEN WE OOOO" SHOW HER ROMANTIC SIDE. PLUS, MY FAVORITE SONG, "SON OF A GUN(I BETCHA THINK THIS SONG IS ABOUT YOU)" SHOWS MISS JACKSON'S NASTY SIDE. I LOVE THAT SONG! I THINK JANET AND CARLEY SIMON'S DIVA-LIKE VOICES GO WELL TOGETHER AND MAKE A DAMM COOL SONG! YOU CAN TELL EVERYTHING THAT JANET IS GOIN' THROUGH WITH THIS ALBUM AND IT REALLY RELATES TO EVERYONE'S LIFE! pLUS, THE BOUNUS TRACK "WHO" ADDS A SPECIAL LITTLE FLAVA TO THIS AWESOME ALBUM AND IS WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY! JANET IS THE QUEEN OF R&B, DANCE, AND POP AND THIS ALBUM ENSURES HER PLACE!
