This review is from: All You Who Labor: Work and the Sanctification of Daily Life (Hardcover)
I found out about this book from a priest who was discussing the value of work for our daily sanctification. It was nothing necessarily new for us, but I found it very interesting to know that one of John Paul II's mentor, Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski, past primate of Poland had discussed many aspects of work and labor that JP II had later on discussed and written about extensively.
The book is readable by almost any level of reader, and builds progressively on the role of work for our sanctification. My only complaint is that it seems repetitive although it seems Cardinal Wyszynski wanted to write for everyone and probably felt this would help the reader. It is much simpler language than JP II's writings, and deserves broader coverage than it has received, in my opinion. |
