5.0 out of 5 stars Are UFO Abductions Real?, May 22, 2000

This review is from: The Allagash Abductions: Undeniable Evidence of Alien Intervention (Paperback)
This book is a condensation of a 10-volume 702-page research report the author completed on the abduction of 4 men, a pair of twins and two friends, during a camping trip on the Allagash Waterway of Maine. In his preface, the author invites the reader to consider the evidence presented as a juror would, and to answer for themselves, "Are UFO abductions real?"

The evidence presented, in addition to background material on the four men, is primarily transcripts of hynosis sessions conducted by hypnotherapist, Tony Constantino. These sessions were held approx 12 years after the Allagash trip. Until these sessions, the four believed that they had experienced only a CEI (Close Encounter of the 1st Kind, visual sighting). However, "bleed through" memories and vivid nightmares led one of the participants to seek help.

The book includes illustrations drawn by the participants after hypnosis (all are artists) and an excellent introduction in Chapter 12 to Dr. Thomas E. Bullard's two volume work, UFO Abductions: The Measure of a Mystery. The common elements of the abduction experience are discussed in relation to the Allagash Four.

Although the idea that human beings are involuntarily being used a guinea pigs by some alien race(s) is, at some primal level, terrifying and leads many people to reject the phenomenon without consideration, the evidence presented here may lead the reader to a different conclusion.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great intoduction to Raymond Fowler, October 1, 2006

It has been some years since I read this but I count it as one of the best written and researched books in my own extensive personal library. Fowler does not simply ask the reader to believe him;he presents the evidence collected-admitedlly it's anecdotal and hypnotic regression, but there is other corrobarative evidence as well-and asks if a jury could convict someone of a kidnapping on the basis of this evidence. Read the account and see if you don't agree.

5.0 out of 5 stars Without A Doubt Necessary, October 28, 2009

This review is from: The Allagash Abductions: Undeniable Evidence of Alien Intervention (Paperback)
There are only a slim handfull of UFO abduction reports that are absolutely
required reading. This is one of them. The nature of the case, its participants,
the methodology of investigating, reconstructing and reporting it - all solid,
credible aspects. Raymond Fowler's sturdiest, most clinical work. And the
inclusion of some illustrations by the abductees themselves does not hurt either.
I have noticed that even after several years, on rereading, there are numerous
details which, once considered trivial, emerge as corroborative with many other
abduction testimonies.

Please, be advised: Along with Missing Time, Secret Life, Buff Ledge, Tujunga Canyon,
a few others, this book is the real thing. Increasingly there is much junk and
sheer psychobabble out there related to CEIVs. Exercise true skepticism and
intellectual rigor rather than diving into the so-called "experiencer" cosmic
messengers/guardians morass. As close to scientific as it gets - your attention
is demanded.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best practice investigation of alien abduction; a classic case in detail from Ray Fowler, March 13, 2010
This review is from: The Allagash Abductions: Undeniable Evidence of Alien Intervention (Paperback)
This book is the condensed summary of a detailed 700-page report into the case of four men (a pair of twins and two other friends) abducted one night from the remote Allagash waterway in Maine whilst on a camping trip in 1976, by unknown entities in a UFO. It is generally regarded as Raymond Fowler's best work in a long career of consistently fine work in this field.

The four were out canoeing in the dark when the large glowing ball-shaped UFO slowly approached and caused a sense of unease and outright panic. Suddenly they found themselves standing on the shore of the lake, their log fire burned down and several hours missing, and the glowing craft receding into the distance. For 12 years following the incident the four - Jim, Jack, Chuck and Charlie - thought they had experienced only a visual sighting of the bright glowing craft over the waterway and despite the anomalies like the missing time, had no clue that an abduction might have taken place.

Persistent nightmares and brief snatches of terrifying memories affected one of the four original participants in particular, and he eventually sought medical help. This led slowly to the whole case being investigated as the four were interviewed separately, memories gradually recovered and the pieces assembled.

Despite the seemingly outlandish subject matter, the evidence is so strong and consistent that any serious skeptical investigator who examines the case anew with genuine scientific rigor inevitably concludes the abductions did happen as reported. No other explanation fits the facts nor explains the evidence. This is one of the strongest cases on record because of the exemplary character of all the witnesses, the consistent and identical reports of the event from the four and the thoroughness of the investigation carried out over several years.

The four men were all good artists and the book contains their fine illustrations of the event and of the entities encountered, as well as photographs of the four whose real identities are not disguised, plus maps of the area, photos of the now well-recognised scoop-mark scars on soft tissue areas of the body common to genuine abductees and a lot of other information. The lives of each of the Allagash four are recounted in detail over the years, and none of the stories changed.

"The Allagash Abductions" is the real deal and one of a small number of first class scientific works on the subject which is absolutely essential reading. It's getting hard to find though, especially in a good hardback copy which if you can find one won't be cheap. The writing style is superb throughout. Unconditionally recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reality Check - A Real Perspective., September 27, 2009

This review is from: The Allagash Abductions: Undeniable Evidence of Alien Intervention (Paperback)
Four men see a UFO and experience missing time while on a raft trip in the remote wilderness of Maine and after unsettling dreams, one of them contacted Mr. Fowler. Raymond Fowler scientifically interviews and then hypnotizes each of the witnesses separately and they each independently tell the harrowing story of their abduction. The level of agreement should convince any logical person that these men are telling a true story. Additionally, the pictures that they draw are amazing. The details that these men relate do not just correlate, they contribute a real perspective in a field where myths abound.

4.0 out of 5 stars They are here again, March 3, 2002

Usual solid Fowler UFO story. Once again Ray puts in a fully credible tale of alien abduction. How can five people be wrong? - Consistent but independent evidence five times over cannot be questioned. A must for anyone, not just Ufologists.

UFO critics cite their is a lack multiple witnesses to a UFO event thereby discrediting this phenomena. While I am not weighing in that the UFO experience is real, I am stating this book will make you think about the possibilities of UFOs and alien abductions. Author Raymond Fowler documents the Allagash Abductions presenting a well researched case supporting the possibility that UFOs and alien abductions are real. I'd suggest reading this book before making a decision on whether your believe or not.

Highly recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars average reading for alien abduction phenomenon, December 28, 2010

Fowler does a fairly good job in holding the readers interest but begins to become repetitive as each witness is interviewed under hypnosis. This is actually a strong point in proving the events happened as reported but becomes routine reading as each story from the witnesses is essentially the same. The reader will gain some new insights into the Allagash events as well as some personal information on the victims lives before and after their ordeal. The book probably could have been condensed some and still retained essentially all the relevant information. Overall 3 stars is a fair rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars A remarkable book on alien abductions, October 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Allagash Abductions: Undeniable Evidence of Alien Intervention (Paperback)
The Allagash Abductions is a remarkable book about alien abductions. It is thoroughly documented and well written. Several of the men who were abducted are commercial artists so the book has many excellent drawings of the men's experiences including the aliens who abducted them, experiments the aliens conducted on them and details of the alien's hands and faces. It is a very convincing book that also includes an account about the victim's pathology report of an unusual alien-induced growth being submitted to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, D.C. From Fowler's account of the pathology being sent without the victim's permission, one can assume that the pathology departments of many hospitals have standing orders to submit very unusual pathologies to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. This action also implies that there are many incidents of unusual pathology being submitted to the military, so the presence of these aliens is more widespread than current alien abduction investigators report. These aliens are not the gray aliens reported by David Jacobs and Budd Hopkins nor are they the aliens reported by John Fuller in Interrupted Journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fact or Fiction: Something did happen here., September 28, 2010

This review is from: The Allagash Abductions: Undeniable Evidence of Alien Intervention (Paperback)
Outside of the known case of the Betty and Barney hill abduction, the Allagash abductions case to this day still makes people think what did happen to four men while hiking. Its a very thorough book which explains in great detail about a most unique alien abduction experience. Filled with transcripts from the four men who endured something hard to imagine and explain, this book keeps on your the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this book to any and all who take interest in UFO's and the unexplained. In my opinion I think even the hardened debunkers would second guess themselves if they read and saw all testimony and effort put into this book to find answers to mystery. Without a doubt in my mind something did happen to four men out in the wilderness in 1976. This book brings to light answers.
