4.0 out of 5 stars Alan & The Ice Gods chills you, thrills you, and takes you back in time to the stone age!, November 12, 2007

This review is from: Allan Quatermain and the Ice Gods (Paperback)
Alan Quatermain-Takes you on a trip back in time, to when life was simple, when all you had to worry about was surviving to the next day.
Through a drug enduced vision, Alan travels back in time to when he was the leader of a tribe of cavemen. There are dinosaurs, and thrills aplenty in the great adventure novel, where survival, and not wealth were the greatest prize.
This novel takes place during the stone age, when man walked the earth alongside of dinosaurs, in the great jurasic period, where wooly mamoths ruled the earth, and man was just one link, and certainly not the highest link in the food chain.
This novel is a divergence from Haggard's usual world set in 19th Century Africa. Like Eric Brighteyes, he takes us on a trip far from our realm of reality, and into a world he creates, full of action, adventure, and most important of all, alongside characters you enjoy reading about, with a sense of good old fashioned chivalry, and moral fortitude. Men who would not only risk, but give their lives for their fellow men, or women-kind. Poeple you would be proud to call your friends.
Men, not unlike our troops in Iraq, and Afghanistan-the finest, bravest, most moral people out there! Our Men & Women in the Armed Forces we should all be proud of, and thankful to, not only on Veterans Day, but always!
May God Bless them, and bring them all home safely to their families, and loved ones! (Obviously this review was written on Veterans Day) but I mean every word of it. A salute to our Troops!
