beautiful music,
By Maureen Hazlett "treble boys singer lover." (colville, wa United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Allegri: Miserere (Audio CD)
This cd introduced me to Allegri's Miserere. It is one of the most beautifull music I have ever heard. Since then I have studied other cd's which featured this psalm. I have heard many since and outside of Jeremy budd's rendition, it remains my favorite.I am and shall always be partial to boys choirs. Saul Quirke has a beautifull treble voice and of course the Westminster cathedral choir and the King's college choir under Stephen Cleobury is as wonderfull as ever. I strongly reccomend this cd.

An absolute treasure,
By Bartolo (New York City, New York USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Allegri: Miserere (Audio CD)
This CD is one of the treasures of my collection, not merely for the Miserere, which is beautiful and haunting, or for the brilliant engineering, which places you inside the choir loft, but for the sequence of other selections, chosen for variation and contrast and suitability and for providing a beginning, middle and fitting end to the program. And not a weak selection among them, either musically or subjectively speaking--I enjoy them all, and their complexity and subltety will allow for innumerable hearings.
