I bought this sampler after listening to the previews of each song. They are a very good representation of what you'll be getting in this album. If you like what you hear, as I did, you'll be happy with the album. If not, then you should look into another album.

Also, if you didn't already know, the term, Allegro, refers to a brisk or lively musical tempo. These songs are mostly instrumentals and definitely have a lively tempo. You can clearly hear all the different instruments (from piano to trombone) play in unison in all these songs. I think this album would be a great one for a dinner party.

Not all the songs have singing incorporated into them, but of the ones that do, I think my favorites are Tell Me Some Lies by Eva Jagun and I Believe I'll Make a Change by Josh White Jr.
I like that Josh's song is more country than the rest of the album.

The only thing about the album that I am confused about is the last song, Ray of Sunshine by Omer Avital. It only starts at about 45 seconds and that is to say that more, and louder, instruments were introduced. Also, it ends very suddenly, like the song shouldn't be over. 1 minute and 15 seconds is strange for a song in an album of mostly long (4:00 & up) songs.

Again, listen to the previews, and decide from there.

I really enjoy this album. Piano, brass, vocals, drum solos, you name it, this great throughout. There will be no skipping tracks.
The variety here is absolutely perfect, in my opinion. Uplifting.
Makes a great album for a dinner party, a scenic car ride, card game or romantic night.
HIGHLY recommend you get this!

Allegro Spring 2011 Sampler by various artists is a wonderful Jazz album. You have to hear "My Country Tis of Thee" sung in "Jazz". It is a treat. The album is 65 minutes long and every minute is a Jazz treat.

This definitely has a jazzy, beatnik vibe. Jazz is not my preference or choice of music, but this album is trendy and hip. I think of David Letterman's band, or some other talk show's music where guests are introduced to lively music. This is especially true of the Zattitude track. Zattitude also reminds me of the Bohemian movies of 60s and detective shows of the 70s (Cannon, Pink Panther, etc.). Given that this is jazz, it's pretty good, so I'm rating this at 4 stars.
