Bottom line... For 10 bucks, this is a good deal.
Just a word to the wise, don't even waste your time with the cheap plastic zip ties they include.
I broke 2 immediately, and ended up just attaching the ring to my binocular strap hook.
As another reviewer noted, they are very elastic, and wouldn't be my first choice for anything heavy.
I have 2 pair of binocs. This will be for the lightweight cheap ones.
I'll find another better quality for the others. I still got what I paid for, so I'm okay with my purchase.

I bought this for my fairly heavy 35mm DSLR camera which I normally use with a fairly heavy lens. It does what I want in taking the weight off my neck, and keeping the camera from swinging when I bend or climb, while still keeping the camera immediately available for pictures. The material seems sturdy enough. (I didn't trust their plastic ties to hold the camera to the strap and used metal.) However, I'm not sure that the stretchy straps on this version are the best way to go. It makes it very easy to put the strap on or take it off. But, when I'm hiking with it, the camera bounces a great deal - and it kind of defeats the purpose of the strap if I have to hold on to the camera all the time.

I have used this product on my hunting binoculars for severtal seasons. It is easily attached and the straps have swivals that help to prevent tangling. I recently purchased two more units for my grandsons. It allows one to keep the optics readily accessable when needed but out of the way when mounting a firearm. The weight of the binoculars is distributed across the wearer's back instead of the neck. The sales price through Amazon makes this an even better bargain and the delivery was fast.

This shoulder holster replaced my old Swaro strap, a companion of 15 years. I recently went on a long birding trip, and found this to be an able replacement. It costs less than other similar straps, and seems to as durable and capable so far!

Elastic bands are thin and stretch out permanently, even with compact bnos. Need a cheap pair of bino harnesses for a friend, they worked but for sure arent as high quality as the ones you pay more for.

I didn't realize that there were going to be small black zip ties included to link the product to your binoculars. On the first morning of the hunt this fall, it must have been about 10 degrees up at 11k feet in Utah, and the cold weather just snapped those zip ties right off in about 20 minutes. Couldnt handle the cold weather at all! These need metal rings to attach to the binoculars and then attach to the shoulder straps. The straps themselves are quite comfy! I was lucky that my hunting buddy had two of those link-chain keyrings (the kind you always see on a lucky rabbit foot) on his hunting pack. He let me have them and I didn't have any issues from then on once I linked them to the straps. Those plastic zip ties just cant cut it in extreme weather. Disappointed in such an item from Allen. For 50 cents more you can make the product much more tolerable/durable/sturdy. I give the strap themselves a 5/5 for comfort, but the way these things broke, I could have ruined my $250 binoculars (which I realize isn't much compared to some out there.. but for me, that's pretty spendy!)

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Pogo on September 25, 2011
Bought this for a two week bike trip in Vietnam. I wanted my cameras close to my chest and ready to shoot quickly without having to pull camera out of a bag. This strap worked perfectly for my compact Canon g12 as well as for my 5d with a 70-200 zoom. Even wearing the big camera all day on the bike I had no neck strain. Because of the elastic straps the camera was always close to my chest and did not swing wildly. When I was ready to take a quick picture, I just lifted the camera up and away from my chest to fire a few shots. I attached two of those small metal rings to the eyelets of each camera where the regular straps normally attach. Then when I wanted to switch cameras, I just clipped in the new camera using the two spring clips on the harness. Worked great!

I was always skeptical whenever I saw these type binocular straps on the hunting shows. I am so glad that I gave it a try. The strap holds your binoculars in place and they are always there when needed. I highly recommend this strap!
