Works,
This review is from: Allen Company Bow String Wax (Sports)
Its bow string wax plain and simple. You need it to get the most out of your string, and to keep your string from fraying. I apply a coating every four sessions (about 24-30 arrows a session). Just rub it on the bare parts of the string then take a piece of brown paper bag and lightly rub the string down (this heats up the wax and "melts" it into the string fibers).

Traditional archers take note: Try this product and like me, you will probably find it to be a major tool in extending the life of your bowstrings!
I shoot Medieval English longbow archery with a 76-inch, 75 pound Yew traditional longbow. I've shot thousands of arrows on this string and because I use Allen Bowstring Wax after every three or four sessions, my string is as strong and tough as ever, with no deterioration. I highly recommend this product for keeping your bowstrings supple and shred-free! Now..Bring on the French knights and 'cry God for Harry, England and Saint George!!!'

Allen Company - Quality Issues,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Allen Company Bow String Wax (Sports)
I have had quality issues with many Allen Company products. In the past I have returned several Allen Company products for this reason.
This product is not too bad, but does not come close to the quality found in slightly more expensive products here on Amazon. I guess you get what you pay for.

The wax is wax. Not much to say about it otherwise. The plastic wrap around the wax is cheap, but who cares? its wax and it works.

if u shoot a bow very often you no why u need this keep ur string good and waxy! when the string dries out it starts to have fuzz on it basicly brakeing apart so keep this on it and all the small strings that make up the big string move and act as one string not moving agaist each other causeing friction and a broken string
