This seat is perfect, better than higher priced similar items. Constrict the seat with the valve open to remove the air and it folds to occupy very little space (wife can transport in a large purse). Open the valve and it is self inflating, adjust the amount of air to the desired firmness. The strap allow you to fasten around your waist to carry into and out of the woods. We use these with our "metal" stands that have a wire mesh seat (ouch, not comfortable), these provide a "smooth ride" and the rough edges of the stand have surprisingly not punchured the air bladder. Oh, the price was right and the shipper was very prompt...can't say enough good about the product and vendor. Wife loves it too! We use them as "stadium seats", the strap around the waist allows you to be "hands free" to carry other items. The seat also insulates from cold weather and is waterproof...great design.

I bought this item because th chair wanted would't have arrived in time for my backpacking trip, but I still needed something to sit on on the ground. It was incredibly comfortable. I also decided to use it as a backup pillow and after deflating it just a bit, it saved my neck from cramping too. The only downside, and not necessarily a fault of the product, was the lack of back support. My companions had used a product that turned their air mats into chairs, and that would have been great if i could have done the same with this. Over all a great product.

I bought these to use at football games. They're the perfect size for those narrow stadium benches. They're not near as rude as those overgrown clamp-on easy chairs people bring.

Used in multiple times this summer. Luv it. Works well for my fishing trip, kayak trips. Very comfortable, just don't blow it up all the way. Price is very reasonable.

I bought this self inflatable cushion for use in my kayak. I have not yet used it in my kayak yet, but I have been using it in different seats around the house, truck etc. It seems to be very well made and durable. The latching strap is a nice touch. It does "self inflate" kinda....with a little squishing and pulling...!! I have found it much easier to just twist the valve open and blow into it until the desired size is reached, then just twist the valve closed. It blows up pretty thick too, so unless you're just huge, I wouldn't worry about it being not enough padding. I am 6'2 190lbs and I find that I don't need it even close to all the way inflated. For the price and prime shipping, I'm very pleased with the purchase.
UPDATE: I have since used the cushion in my kayak, and LOVE it! It works perfectly! My only regret is not getting it sooner. I officially change my rating to 5 stars. IMO this cushion is a MUST HAVE for anyone who sits in a kayak for more than an hour at a time!

I used the Allen Self Inflating Seat Cushion on a recent elk hunting trip in Colorado. It performed superbly, even in single digit temperatures. The valve system worked very well, and allowed easy inflation and deflation. The deflated cushion is easily packed into your pack and is extremely light. I highly recommend it.

This is a really nice product and does its job very well. I've taken it hunting with me recently and it was very comfortable on the rocky, dirt ground. When it's fully inflated, you don't even feel the ground through the pad at all (I weigh about 190 pounds). It's really nice. I also tried on the concrete ground at the range and it worked perfectly there too. Also, the strap around the waist is a nice touch to allow you to carry other things and it adjust to your waist size.

I searched for months before finally finding this baby! I had two that were several years old. One was stolen, and the other had a slow leak... (probably my fault, due to use in rugged environments). I bought a couple and I take them with me wherever I think I might need a softer place to sit!!
