The only drawback to this particular pack is that there is a large zippered main compartment, a medium zippered front compartment, but no small compartment. My old bag had a perfect spot for chapstick, pocket knife, car keys, etc. A simple remedy for this particular pack is to keep these smaller loose items in a ziplock or container of some sort...then stow it away in the front pocket.
One of my friends commented on it yesterday. He liked the camo break-up pattern and noted that it blends well with surroundings and does not stand out.
Lastly, I like that it has an inner pocket and a velcro opening in the top to accept a rubber Camelback-style bladder. I have not used it for this yet, but the added pocket space inside also works well to organize contents.
All in all, a great buy! I look forward to using for years to come.
. At tbe zipper it overlaps it self (tas all weather bags ive ownded due) so i dont see any imidet issue. There are three mesh pockets on the outside, a spyder web pocket outtside ( great for rain poncho). One med/small zipper pocket outside, hold my pelican case just fine ( phone, wallet, keys, ext) inside main pocket there is nothing. You have the spot for your bladder and then just the big space us old book bag kids are use to. Store the stuff you may need or the stuff youll use after the kill. My food gos in the cargo pockets outside.
Update 7-3-2014: Manufacturers don't take pride in their products anymore. This bag is a complete waste of money. I guess I expected too much for what I paid. But I figured it's advertised as waterproof, so waterproof it is......NOT! Just got home from walking in pouring rain for 2 city blocks and all my contents are soaked. Maybe I just have bad luck with waterproof items but this isn't the only item I've had fail in the "waterproof" department. My Merrell boots also failed......yep, you guessed it, advertised as waterproof as well. A pair of Vasque "waterproof" hiking shoes failed almost immediately after purchase a few months ago after doing some light gardening...... maybe I don't really understand the concept of waterproof!? or maybe the Jersey rain is so acidic it eats through waterproof membranes!? Nah, I'll go with my opening remark...."Manufacturers don't take pride in their products anymore".
