5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product
At the time, I didn't have the money for expensive electronic muffs, so I did some research and found these. The package labels them as muffs for shooting, but points out other uses such as power tools, machinery, or motor sports. 3.0 out of 5 stars Can you hear me now?
These feel a little like they might break when you put them on, but they work great. My wife and son both use them and have no issues.

These are a little snug on my big head, but not really uncomfortable. My wife and kids like the fit. It's a bit of a stretch in the product description to say you can hear "normally" while you're wearing these, but you CAN still carry on a conversation. For example, in a highly scientific test conducted in my den, for me to hear an annoying commercial at about the same level as my TV sounded at volume level 13, I had to put it on 20 or so when wearing the earmuffs. Still, they let me come home from the shooting range with my hearing intact, so that's what counts, I suppose.

I usually like the kind of earmuffs that have two heavy, padded wires running over my head for support and this one has a one-piece plastic support. I feel like I need to be more careful with these, but if the plastic doesn't break, they'll be a pretty good set. They fold up small and they don't look as goofy as some.

At the time, I didn't have the money for expensive electronic muffs, so I did some research and found these. The package labels them as muffs for shooting, but points out other uses such as power tools, machinery, or motor sports. I prefer muffs over ear plugs because they don't hurt your ears or fall out ever-so-slightly, loosing effectiveness. I find them excellent for muffling gun shots, and I would assume other circumstances although I have not tried myself.

Pros:
+ Comfortable
+ Excellent noise reduction for the price
+ Normal speech is still audible

Cons:
None so far (I've been using these for a couple months)

I recommend these if you're short on cash and need some decent muffs. Overall an excellent product for the price.

I can't here you,*takes muffs off* oh these things work perfectly. I used to use disposable earbuds and these cost as much as a 10 pair box.

it's very small and handy, love it how i can keep it with all my other shooting items cause of the space it saves. my friends ear muffs from big 5 are extremely large and gets in the way, though they have a better sound guard but not by to much.

I have used these muffs for a weekend pistol training and wore them for hours at a time. They seem to feel a little tight but a cushioned well and never got uncomfortable even after a few hours of wear. I also have glasses and this was not a problem. The level of hearing protection is great. Great price and they do what they are supposed to do. I will be ordering a couple more of these. I gave it 4 and not 5 stars ONLY because it seems to be a thin hard plastic and I can't imagine they will last for years without breaking, but at this price I'll order a few and rotate them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ha these...., June 29, 2011
This review is from: Allen Company Low Profile Folding Muffs, NRR26 (Sports)
Well, I think after a few months of use I was at the range and found them falling appart. I tried putting them together but since it has already broken appart, its noise reduction wasn't there anymore. So basically, as soon as I started shooting 9mm the noise was able to bounce back into me and my ears were ringing.

So I recommend against buying these if you want them to last.

The earmuffs work great! I use them while shooting firearms and they really deaden the sound. They're pretty comfortable. Construction and durability seems to be "ok". I don't think they will last 10 years, but they're $11. Well worth the money in my opinion. I will probably buy another pair.

Comfortable, easy to fold up, light to carry. These are identical to others for sale on Amazon at a higher price (Pyramax for example), so save your money and buy these if you are looking for the cheapest muffs for occasional use.
